I was out and about today and wondered if anyone I came across had ever heard of Lit, or much less an active member. Which then lead me to think about a special Lit sign that could be used to identify people. Then I thought "no way in hell would I ever do that". Would you?

I'm not really sure. There are people I know that I've pointed toward lit. But then, most of my friends are like me, so they alread know I'm filthy. :)

Oh dear!
Nope, I wouldn't wear it either! But a secret handshake would be nice.

I do wonder the same often though.

Hell no. I worry enough about being recognized and being found out by people who know me!

I' ve wondered the same thing, Chainy. In fact, when I was travelling recently, and in the airport, I was looking at Lit on my phone. I had a moment of wondering if anyone passing by, or sitting near me, would glance over and recognize the Playground screen. It was kind of secretly thrilling, to tell the truth. I figured that, with all the people who visit the site, surely we must be in the company of other litsters more often than we know.

Probably not. On line there are ways to avoid folks you don't want to deal with; that would be tougher if they knew and interacted with you in real life. Probably some of the same motivation for not leaving face pictures up. On the other hand, a big part of this experience is meeting new people so it might be nice to be able to recognize something in common with a stranger and get to know them in real life.

Oh, and to answer the question, I wouldn't want to actually cross the line of identifying myself. So, "no" on the Lit nametags. :D

So you are saying you don't already walk around in a t/shirt that reads... Makin Me Purr...?

I have never hid Lit from anyone in real life...but then, I'm not married either. My significant other knows I come here, and he's even read some of the posts.

I have often wondered if anyone, when I'm people watching, is someone from Lit. I'm near enough to a city that it isn't impossible. In fact, I've met a few people out here in the burbs that are from Lit.

(Hi, Chained!)

oh I have wondered. I do personally know 1-2 that are on here. but as others have said it is kinda interesting people watching and wondering if they are on Lit.
:rose:

How does one find that out about someone?

Ah, okay, you met them here first. Yes, I have done that once or twice.

Oh, yes...I guess I should have clarified that! Although an "I practice good Litiquette" t-shirt would be a good identifier, don't you think? ;)

I love that idea. $20 a t-shirt. All proceeds go toward scholarships for those wanting to learn proper Litiquette but don't have the resources. The Litiquette Foundation is open for business.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Had this thought overnight: Why is it those Litsters that seem less palatable to you are the ones that show up all over the boards? Is like the red car phenomenon where as soon as you buy a red car you realize just how many other red cars are out there?

Thumbs up!

*grins* I remember being pregnant and seeing only pregnant women around. Strangely they have disappeared from the streets a long time ago.

Hmmm interesting topic, but also a dangerous one to comment on, I fear. People who drive those red cars can be a little touchy. I just switch lanes.
:D

Ducks in quickly. We all have a slightly different personality here in Litiquette-ville than in RL. WoUld you rather be who you are here or who you are in RL, and why?
