How about not posting to a thread that is long dead? Don't try to revive it, it died for a reason. If you want to bring up the topic again, start a new one but put a fresh spin on it or it will probably suffer the same fate. Please do some research before you start a thread that is the same as ten other people here, too.

Yes!! It seems there have been many old threads resurfacing lately that haven't been posted to in years.

Actually there are a few forum rules that aren't just etiquette.

9. Flooding the forum with posts, screen-breaking text, or images - or bumping old threads - and/or any non-substantive activity with the intent of disrupting the forum is prohibited.

Skipping, when it's not a matter of simul-posting, in a "the person above you" thread is one of my peeves

As far as the when you can post between two people having an exchange...I try to look for a "suitable" length of time after the last post, where suitable varies

On the matter of butting in when two people are in the middle of virtual fornication on a thread. The following is just my opinion and may be disregarded as such:

There's an inbox for a reason. It's perfectly fine to jump into any thread at any time. Once you start a thread, the genie is out of the bottle. Some will complain about cock blocking, but they really should already be in the inbox if they've actually got a shot at whatever it is they're shooting for. None of us own Lit or pay for the privileged of visiting. Besides, taking over a thread is rather rude. It's okay on a slow night, (and yes, I do it from time to time.) But if it's busy, find a quiet corner and do your thing.

Fair and valid points. But I will say sometimes it just organically grows and evolves. in those situations when an interloper intercedes, that's the time to go PM. I winks love to see a "We went to PM" emoticon

maybe you should start a "Get a Room Thread" to alleviate this problem. grinning. if you don't... I might. lol

I noticed the same. :rose: It makes me wonder what the purpose of it is. *shrug*

There's always one that actually reads the rule book. ;)

How about when someone starts a new thread? Is that person obligated or should that person reply to posts as a way of saying thanks and appreciating the input.

Wow, you sound like like Lit Police. Note to self> Quit sending Aqua those PMs about pumpkins.

Thank you!
I have a 2 page limit. At 2 pages, I am posting what I want and I don't care if it interferes.

I don't know. With the number of new people coming to the boards, if you can add something and not just 'bump' I don't have a problem with old threads. Sometimes people are happy to see an old thread revived.

You guys are funny. It just so happened I saw someone link that to someone else today, I didn't know beyond that it was all annoying.

Pumpkins?

:rose: Oh, that thread's been discussed. But I've got several threads for that. It's bad form when you have your own thread and splash your idea of virtual sex in front of people just to be seen. I get the voyeuristic bent, but to hog a thread is basically trolling.

I'm probably just a curmudgeon but sometimes I get annoyed when someone has a really long signature, especially when they've posted multiple times in succession in one thread. How can I sit here fapping in my brand new sweat pants if I have to scroll for an hour just to see the next gif of floppy titties? I mean fuck, man! Ya know?

Miles, I agree...it is aggravating, specially if you're on your cell!

:D

I actually like discovering new, interesting threads. I think reviving them can be a good thing.

It's always amazing to me how fast a thread can wind up on page 4. I'm definitely the out if sight, out if mind type with regards to threads.

Turn sigs off.

Which is why I turned off signatures. I can go to someone's profile if I want to see it. And once is usually enough.......with regard to signatures ;)
