Does anyone else have days you think, “Maybe I should back away from Lit for the day before someone gets hurt”? Like you just feel this day your tongue might be sharper than any sword? I think I’m having one of those days.

And I miss when PMann would set music to his questions so....

Sometimes...people need to hear the truth without all the sugar coating. If people don't want my opinion...don't ask for it.

I think most people feels that way sometimes.

I feel that way quite frequently

I used to just say what's on my mind, I still do sometimes, but our opinions aren't always called for. Most of these should be handled privately, why bother saying something hurtful, if the conversation wasn't directed at you. Unfortunately I don't always follow this course of action, but every opinion doesn't need to be voiced.

Not speaking of anyone in particular, but some people want to feel tough, but wouldn't say these things face to face. Being bold comes with consequences, make sure you're willing to pay it, before opening your mouth. Everyone is not equipped to deal with the backlash, of their comments. It just isn't worth time wasted, on someone who doesn't matter

In the past, perhaps. These days, the way I flit on and off the board, I'm not here enough to get too annoyed with anyone.

You know what it is for me? The lack of genuine effort. If you want to engage me, take the time to stalk even three posts - I’m pretty sure it can’t be that hard to figure out I’m not here to be anyone’s visual masturbation fodder. I LIKE reading. I love wittiness. Make me laugh. Turn on my brain.

I think it was just a copy/paste PM soliciting play and then someone in the GB asking why bother with cloth masks if they only provide “half” the protection. Last I checked, the only fail-safe protection from unwanted pregnancy and disease was abstinence.

And that’s not happening.

Thanks all for letting me be grumpy.

Truer words were never spoken. It's amazing the value people put on their personal opinions.

Eh. You are not that grumpy.

It’s been forever since one of those copy and paste babies came my way, but, ugh. They’re rather reminiscent of being hit on back in my clubbing days while the girlfriends were visiting the facilities.

I am alone for a hot five minutes.

Guy: Hey. How are you doing?
Me: Good. Thanks.
Guy: Do you come here often?
Me: Occasionally. We like to dance.
Guy: We?
Me: I’m here with my girlfriends.
Guy: What are you drinking?
Me: Water.
Guy: Water?
Me: Water.
Guy: We’ve been talking for a while. Now that we’ve gotten to know each other, let’s go out tomorrow night.
Me: :|

This was an actual conversation.

My time on the board has taught me this^ is the absolute best way for guys to get the chicks.

(I had no idea this was the case before coming to lit. No idea. :p)

So you’re saying this^is better than using a mutual appreciation for proper hydration to get a date? :D

Happy Friday!

I’m watching the Queen’s Gambit on Netflix right now.
I don’t play chess, but Beth’s obsession - or maybe it’s love for the game is crazy nuts.
If you haven’t watched it, add it to your list.

So, today’s question:
1. Do you play chess?
2. If not, is there another board or card game that you play that you’re prettt darn awesome at?
3. Do you have a fascination of the game, how it’s played, the rules or history? Strategies on winning and odds.
4. Play to win, have fun, hold yourself back and no whoopassing the in-laws?

I play Chess(t).

While she ponders her next move I stare at her breasts.
I always win.

I also like Clue.

I played chess and checkers a lot as a teenager.

Against others my age I was very good, but not so much so now.

Both then and now I only play for the social aspects of the whole thing and am not troubled if I win or lose.

I used to, but was never stellar at it. I used to play a lot of euchre and the variation of rules and scoring system (like 2 and 3's or 5's) and how attached people are to certain things fascinate me. Sometimes make me laugh. People are very passionate about their rules and they are very regional. I like Hearts, too. But I get bored and just try to shoot the moon every hand.

Games with odds related to numbers and combinations fascinate me more as well. That's the accountant speaking, but seeing people who really pay attention to that stuff and how they live and die by it is quite interesting.

I always try to win in the sense of I want to play my best hand, game, move, etc. but these types of games are for fun, having a drink, being social. I don't play often anymore because I find it the opposite of that most times.

Being filthy Friday I think we need more discussion on strip poker.

1. I feel like suddenly chess is the “hot” thing to do. My dad is an avid player and tried very hard to teach me but I’d rather read books.
2. Not particularly. I even tried to lose at Connect Four and still won.
3. No.
4. I always play to have fun. I don’t like being competitive because I’ve seen too many sore losers.

Connect Four kicks ass! I loved that game. :)

Loved that show. The costumes, the sets, the makeup...

I suck at chess. SUCK! I can’t see big picture visuospatial stuff. Probably why I am a klutz. Whoops fell on another dick.

I don’t play any game on the regular these days but I have played a lot of Boggle in my day. I’m also pretty good at Balderdash. I have half a fighting chance when I play word games.

And poker. Poker fascinates me. I don’t know all that much about the game itself. But I seem to be able to win quite a bit because I’m good at detecting who’s bluffing/lying/has a hard-on for a good hand. I used to hustle at poker in college. I’d get underestimated, play all ditzy, and then win by being a human lie detector. Owned, boys. Owned.

Play. To. Win. ;)

1. I haven’t in quite some time. I was pretty decent in college.

2. Yes. I’m quite good at board and card games- it’s one of my hobbies. I’m super competitive and I just enjoy winning.

3. I’m pretty good at statistics and quick math, so I have an idea of outs and probability in games like poker. Not big on the history of games though.

4. Play to win. I cannot understand those who play for any other reason. It must be combined with fun.

Pmann
Oh my fuck
Would I just die to whup your ass in a game of poker
You mathy guys are my favorites ones to trounce.
