One word: Tiramisu.

Yes, yes, yes!

Every year on my birthday I got to choose my cake. Every year it was black forest gateau. So delicious.

There’s a restaurant in the UK called The Fat Duck that had an ultimate version of the BFG. I can honestly say it’s the best dessert to ever pass my lips.

I’ve got the cookbook with the recipe but I reckon it would take me about three days to make it so it will have to stay a once in a lifetime experience.

Why, thank you! ;)

No question yet today?
K.
I’ll pose one. In my own unique and silly style.
Hope Papa C doesn’t mind. :)

We’re gonna dive deep today.

What’s your favorite kind of cake and why? Describe in lurid detail!
Ohhhh cake!!! There’s nothing better than cake in my opinion, well....almost nothing better 😊
I love Red Velvet Cake, it looks beautiful with its rich deep red colour and the contrast of the cream butter icing. It’s soft and velvety texture is to die for and it smells amazing ❤️

I just love cake though! Carrot Cake, Coffee and Walnut Cake, Lemon Drizzle is also another favourite and the Victoria Sponge Cake because sometimes you just need a bit of vanilla!

Let them eat cake!!!!

So vegans eat cake, I mean almost all baking requires eggs. I’m not sure I’m that committed. Which brings me to the question: what are you so totally committed to that you’ll give up almost everything to maintain your principle. Have you ever had to rescind and go back? Have you ever cheated and snuck an action that goes against the very principle you hold close?

Sell myself in order to make a career.

No. I lost the job I loved. A great position, good money and benefits.
But I have no regrets. I would do it again.

Having said that. I didn't have children to feed. I only had myself to think about. Therefore, I could gamble and take the risk. But who knows what would I have done in different circumstances? I'm glad I don't have to find out.

Chocolate. Three layers. Chocolate Icing. My great-grandmother used to make it for on birthdays.

These days it's still chocolate cake. Of the dense, flourless variety. NOM.

That looks positively scrumptious!

And take me back. Southern Living was a staple in all my family household as a little girl. Fabulous pics and decadent recipes.

Eh. This is practically a lifestyle. I'm like a dog with a bone once I see what I perceive to be a *wrong*.

Hmm. Current hobby horse is clean food ethically sourced.

- Do I fall off? Sure. Restaurants are tricky, but I live in a big city so that gets to be less and less of an issue.

- Do I rescind principles? I am fairly immovable once I've taken a stand, but, that said, if situations change or new information comes to light that makes me feel I've been in the wrong I'll make a change.

Because I'm so open minded and all. :D

I’m committed to trying to do my best at a lot of things. But absolutes - the bar is too high, and I’m human - so i fuck up. Ergo, I don’t ascribe to a lot of absolutes. Makes the self flagellation that much worse when I do slip up.

If I know I’m trying though, I’m good with that.

And *of course* I’ve snuck in a no-no action here n there. Them rule breaker thill moments make life spicy...

Having said that, I’m a pretty good girl, on the whole.

But don’t ask me what I just googled and why. ;)

I had vegan cup cakes, no egg and that weird alternative milk. They were actually really lovely!

I try my best to be a good person, to be the best version of myself. Do I fuck up? Absolutely but I can reflect on that so I don’t do it again. To repeat that behaviour is a choice. Have I snuck in an action that goes against my usual principles l, yes I have but not to the detriment of someone else. I have really strong opinions, I would never force them on others and I’m always interested to listen to others opinions. Will it change mine? Probably not but wouldn’t the world be a very boring existence if we all held the same views.

Remember that conversation a week or so ago? That one about black and white? I do.

Yes...there are principles I do not compromise on. It was black and white then. It is black and white today. There is no such thing as "gray"...else it wouldn't be a "principle" would it?

Shrugs shoulders. Opinions...views...can evolve. But at any given moment, a principle can not be fluid.

So I can’t just be a smidge dishonest?
No go?
;)

I’m committed to coffee, chocolate, to being kind, cheeky, clever and rebellious.
Adds in listening to myself and others. (when I’m not being cheeky) 😁
Oh and bananas right now too.

Have I ever snuck in and cheated against my principle, I’m guilty. But not today. Nope.

Come now girl. You know what is right for you...is right for you. And what is right for me is right for me. It doesn't make either exclusive or wrong. Just is.

Mermaid endeavors have been at a standstill of late... no beaches = no mermaiding
I’m a tropical farm girl now
Who wants papayas?

I stopped hula hooping when a guy mentioned the phrase 'pelvic thrusting'.
I was, like, "Yup. Now I'm self-conscious."
