Is Papa playing hooky yet again?

Until he arrives... we're going to a Man Meat party tonight and I cannot wait. It will be a plethora of meats and men and, well, basketball... But that's not important right now.

Meat is important. So I'll just be posting a few meaty pics of things I hope are on the menu tonight. ;)

Feel free to join in or play amongst yourselves...

Duuuuude that's amazing. I just started making steaks in my cast iron with olive oil. If you cook it just right you get that char but it's still rare and it's so awesome.

So to Keep the food theme going, describe the meal you would request as a death row inmate as your last supper. Would you even be able to eat it? Would you bother sleeping those last few days? Knowing you were going to die an an exact day and time would be my version of living hell...

knowing my luck, as a death row inmate, my last meal, IF I went with something like beef or the like, would be because I would think "who cares, because tomorrow I'll be dead." So, then I would go to the chair, they would flub the electric shock, which technically speaking, if a prisoner survives it, they get a free pass, so I'd be extra crispy on the outside, alive, and have pain between the legs the next few days... NOT worth it!

So, instead I'd pick Chicken Cordon Bleu like that which was made by Le Menu years ago:

Grilled breast, over a slice of ham, covered in a peanut white sauce, with two sides of; dirty rice, and corn with red peppers.
Personally, I used to scrape the white sauce off the chicken, and put it on the rice.

^^^
From Chili's? ;)

Mine would be an extra large lobster tail with drawn butter. Lobster macaroni and cheese. Lobster bisque. And for dessert, a Grand Marnier soufflé. And if that motherfucker collapses, I get a stay of execution.

yup, I get a tummy ache from eating beef too, but then it goes a little further south and feels like someone kicked me between the legs for a day or three...
Bacon I prefer not to eat because any pork I eat tends to give me a bad scent afterwards.
Fried foods just make me fat...
*sighs*

You get blue balls from beef?

Not that I eat red meat anymore...I don't but I do prepare it and here's the cast iron pan recipe I use (Alton Brown)....the steak turns out perfect every time.

Ingredients:
  • Rib-Eye 1.5 inches thick
  • Oil
  • Salt and Pepper

  1. Place a 10-to-12-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven and heat the oven to 500 degrees F. Bring the steak to room temperature.
  2. When the oven reaches temperature, remove the skillet and place on the range over high heat for 5 minutes. Coat the steak lightly with oil and sprinkle both sides with a generous pinch of salt. Grind on black pepper.
  3. Immediately place the steak in the middle of the hot, dry skillet. Cook 30 seconds without moving. Turn with tongs and cook another 30 seconds, then put the pan straight into the oven for 2 minutes. Flip the steak and cook for another 2 minutes. (This time is for medium-rare steak. If you prefer medium, add a minute to both of the oven turns.)
  4. Remove the steak from the skillet, cover loosely with foil and rest for 2 minutes. Serve whole or slice thin and fan onto plate.

You're the man, BBB! I'll have to try this out soon. That sounds amazing.

You lost me at "not that I eat red meat anymore".

As for my last meal:

Porterhouse medium rare
Caesar salad (preferably from Old Ebbitt Grill)
My ma's southern style potato salad
My grandmother's sweet rolls
Two or three cannolis
20oz Dr. Pepper
A bottle of Dow's 40yo Tawny Port
A side order of Tim Olyphant

It's a pretty darn good recipe. I love my cast iron pans. :D

Yes I'm not eating red meat...it is Lent, by the way. :D

As for my last meal:

I'll start off down memory lane with a piece of toasted Monk's bread with a ton of butter and my grandmother's red currant jam.
Maryland Crab Soup from Phillips downy oshun, hon.
Linguine con fruiti de mare - scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams, in my spicy pasta sauce.
Cucumbers sliced super thin with rice wine vinegar and sesame seeds, served ice cold.
Two succulent breasts with IHOP syrup
Beef on Weck from Schwabl's and a side order of wings from The Anchor Bar
One little Filet Mignon from Ruth Chris

For dessert I'll take a slice of my mom's strawberry rhubarb pie and a slice of her pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream.

And of course...a fish and finger pie....in summer meanwhile back....

For drinks...I'll take a couple of pints of Guiness, a nice German RheinHessen Auslese, an Italian red for the pasta dish, and I'll knock back a couple of shots of real agave Tequila and Водка из Москвы.

Is there a possibility of a conjugal visit? If there is, I'll take a couple of hits of Viagra and hopefully I will suffer that one major side effect of a 4 hour boner. If not I'll take the whole bottle of tequila :D

Happy Sunday. since for Christians Sundays are the "religious" day of the week, this topic is most relevant on a Sunday (assuming there's more Christians than other religions or atheists on this thread).

When was the last time you truly prayed? No need to share what you prayed on just when was the last time?

Uh-oh. I cannot remember the last time.
