Friday quickie, because the quiet of the holidays is but a distant memory.

What was the last thing that you forgot? Or should I say noticed you don't remember? Is there a difference? Memory is an amazing skill/trait/thing. If I had it to do all over again, I might go into the field of memory study. I'm sure there's an official title for the field but ......wait for it...... I forgot.

Have a good day ladies and gentleman, I'll be here all weekend, tip your waiters and waitresses. :)

...how much of deviation from your routine does it take to throw you off? Can you handle some deviation or does the slightest alter to your routine throw off you entire day? If your routine gets off track do you fight like hell to get it back, or just roll and alter your day as needed.

This was a tricky question. To me, allowing yourself to deviate from a plan shows how undetermined you are to executing said plan. However, the inability to adjust in some way shows inflexibility to a potential road block, and any given plan has the potential of an immovable object to block your way.

So, in my universe, you have to be flexible enough to adjust your course, but if you do nothing but adjust your course, then you are more inclined to be distracted by... oh, shiny!

It's uncharacteristic for me to not remember something. I forget all the time, but I usually remember that I forgot it later.

The last time I forgot something was just a couple of days ago, and I forgot that I had gotten a wrist x-ray a month ago. What was shocking is I had to be reminded that I had it. That's the difference.

I have an atrocious memory in general. Unless it's something really important to me or things I'd rather forget. Those stick around and taunt me. I'm keep this answer Short because I could go into the whys but it's personal.

Oh Papa. You and your sharp wit.

The last thing I forgot... I forgot my anniversary last year. But so did my wife. We were both so busy with stuff that neither of us remembered until mid day. Oops.

I normally have such a sharp and clear memory. I remember things like dates and when events happened and all very well. I also pretty much remember every little thing that has ever been said. That makes it a bitch to be in an argument with me, too.

I have a really good memory. Crazy good, actually. An argument with Pmann would be interesting.

Hubby, on the other hand, has a really selective memory. He can remember which theater he saw a movie in, for example, or who was at a party we attended, but can't remember our kids birthdays. Or mine. My divorce lawyer was astounded. He said "you only have two children. How hard is that? I have seven, and I can tell you every one of their birthdays."

My memory basically sucks. I'm always forgetting something. So you'll see me constantly taking notes and making lists. I think the last thing I forgot was an item from the grocery store. So usually it's nothing huge that I'm forgetting. :p

I'm good at my job, very detailed oriented, remember EVERYTHING, but outside of work, I forget everything. I'm especially bad with names and faces. I never remember people. I don't know if that is a bad memory or I just don't care enough to remember anyone.

That's another one for me too, I'm absolutely terrible with names. I'm kind of terrible in general.when you get down to it. Bwahaha :p

I endorse both of these statements. *Nods enthusiastically*

^^^ This is me exactly. At work, memory like a steel trap. Outside work, I can easily forget the thing I was going to write on my shopping list before I get from the lounge to the kitchen. I don't understand why it's different.

The non-work thing I do remember without effort is what I ate in any given restaurant. Like it was yesterday.

Here in America we still burn our witches like civilized people.

Yet another reason I'm happy to be a Brit.

The last thing I forgot was what day the schools returned after the holidays - remembered the night before, thankfully.
My memory is hit/miss. I remember random, seemingly unimportant stuff. Like where I was when I last did something, or the colour of the hilighters and flash cards I used when revising as a tool to remember the facts. I'm terrible with names, but can usually remember a face.

At work I'm usually ok. Ditsy, but no important memory issues. :D

My memory is also terrible outside of work. Truly, it's since I had children, but I have always been particularly bad with dates like anniversaries and birthdays.

If I've met you once I will never forget your face, but I will rarely remember your name.

This....exactly

Speaking of forgetting, did someone forget to write a daily question???

Quick hitter this morning:

Do you see yourself as others see you? Which is a more accurate view, there's or yours?

Hmm guess I'll start asking around and comparing notes.
I was going to give a smart ass answer but decided to go with this instead.

I think the people who love you the most always choose to see the best in you, while we tend to be our own worst enemy. Not to say they aren't aware or recognize our faults and bad points they just accept it's part of who you are and love you anyway or inspite of. In the case of my best friend I think she sees me pretty clearly and accurately and I her. The good and the ugly. I don't let a lot of people in beyond the surface, so I would have to say unless you are one of those people I've let in then my view is the more accurate.

How often do we look at ourselves in a mirror and think "I'm not (that) fat!" Then again, there is plausibility to being our own worse critics as curvyangel pointed out.

I tend to believe that we see ourselves in truer colors than any other, but then again, we might also see ourselves through rose colored glasses at the same time. Likewise, vice versa regarding other people's views of ourselves.

What I think is very telling is when someone else's view point of ourselves takes precedence over our own perspective. This is a very sad case, and frankly, I have no respect for anyone who allows this to happen. That is, it happens, but the ease that some allow others to sway their perspective shows a weak mind, and that is what is not respectable.

I totally looked at myself this morning and thought... my fat ass needs to lose some weight. Because, my fat ass needs to lose some weight. So, I'm pretty sure I was accurate about that.

In terms of my personality, I think I'm pretty self aware. I don't feel like I'm often surprised by people who like or dislike me. I know my strengths. I know my weaknesses.

I suppose the one area where I'm not 100% aware is- this will shock you all- sensitivity. Sometimes I come off like I just care too much... I'm kidding. Sometimes I come off as more callous than I mean to or than I actually am.

I don't. Sometimes I'm harder on myself and sometimes too liberal. Lit has done a great job at making me see myself as some others do however then my loving mother snaps a pic of me and I'm zapped back into 'I'm a tired mama' reality and think...am I a big fake?
So. ..the answer....I think everyone lies somewhere in the middle of their own views and others.
