So I announced I wanted to be a train conductor yesterday. Now my motives may not have been pure but yesterday it's what I wanted. Do you have your dream job? Not many do. Does your dream job change? Are you easlitly swayed toward the other side of the fence?

I'd be a Nascar driver. Hardest part would be memorizing all the sponsors to thank for the post race interview.

I like my job a lot. It's not my dream though. I would rather be a radio talk show host. Basically something that I get to talk and people listen to my opinions and I get paid. That's my dream.

As a kid I wanted to be a train platform announcer. I was completely devastated when I found out that the perfectly rehearsed voice was a recording. I also wanted to be a window washer.

As an adult, medicine has been my calling. Getting sick changed that a bit for me, however. I've found a pretty neat way to utilize my skills by teaching medical students, and I really love it. I'm a teacher and never knew it. I don't know that I have a "dream job", buy I do have a job I love, so I'll take that.

I'll be your medical student. *hi five*

I basically really enjoy my job. It's easy, fun, and I'm learning new stuff all the time.

Plus I spend my life doing various things I love and having fun. So it's all good.

Dream job? I would have loved for that "rock star" thing to work out, but the music business can be truly awful so I'll just stick to music simply being a big part of my life in other ways. ;)

I have always had a difficult time identifying a "dream job". I struggled with it when choosing a college major and even as my career has progressed. I like my job. I don't love it. But I also don't know what else I would enjoy more.

My family loves to remind me that when I was a kid, I wanted to be a school bus driver.

Maybe I should give it a whirl.

When I was young, I saw Tony Curtis in The Great Imposter. I marveled that a person could manage more than one job and be successful at it.
Later on I wanted to be an engineer only because I saw it as the closest way to be able to design or invent new things that pop up in my head all the time.

Unfortunately, I lost the appreciation of being in a school environment and the closest to an engineer that I could get was a drafting designer. That form of job has been phased out over the last 30 years to the point of non-existence, so... while that might be a dream job, I no longer can get it.

Woof. One of the lessons I cover is how to give a comfortable prostate exam. No joke.
I also teach how to correctly insert a needle into the perineum. That's fun.

You can check my prostate but you're not putting a needle near my junk. I made them put me to sleep in order to avoid the needle in my dick for a vasectomy. They said, "Sir, this is a normal office visit procedure and we inject a needle..." I politely told him to eat a big dick and I'll pay the extra $500 and have them put me to sleep. I'm not scared of shots. I am scared of shots in my dick. I realize the perinium is the taint. But, it's close enough. 🖕

I just saw the deadpool movie last night. You ARE deadpool pmann

Was he charming and loved by all those around him? Is that what you mean, you howler you?

I love my work. I don't always like waking up and going in :) but I love what I do.

And Aussie, I'd pay good money to watch you examine Pmann's prostate 😂

You could probably find prostate vids for free on Pornhub. Just sayin.

So, we all love our routines. Nothing wrong in admitting it and I suspect a mild case of denial for those that proclaim chaos to be their chosen state of being. But how much of deviation from your routine does it take to throw you off? Can you handle some deviation or does the slightest alter to your routine throw off you entire day? If your routine gets off track do you fight like hell to get it back, or just roll and alter your day as needed.

Day to day stuff I can generally roll with. But sudden shifts in plans are something I get irritated by.

I went on a date once a couple years ago. We met at a Mexican restaurant. One of the really good ones, so was all psyched. We meet there and she goes "This place is kinda busy. Let's go to Chilis!"

There was never a second date.

Pfft. Chilli's....I see why you didn't go out again

As to Chains QOTD - I'm a complicated individual so I can't answer this one.

I like most of my work day to be in a routine although I am in a job that frequently doesn't allow it. Outside of work though I don't need a routine and I am happy not knowing what is happening from one day to the next.

I have my dream job. It took me 8 years to get it and I've been doing it for 5.
It changes in that the more experienced I am, the more I want from it.

Chaos is my normal. Organised chaos, but very definitely still chaos.
Deviation isn't really an issue. I'll happily just go with it and alter things as needed.

I'm envious of anyone who has a dream job - let alone who is doing it. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

As a kid I wanted to be a teacher. A job I'm super glad I don't have now. A dream job for me now would be costume designer for tv or Broadway

I was pretty happy in my last field for a decade and as close to a dream job as i thought I'd come. I actually have the opportunity to go back to that world and now I'm in a mental battle with myself.

I like order where I like order, if that makes sense. Some things, I plan down to the tiniest detail. For example, finances. I like to plan for everything. I've done a budget every single month for the last 11 years or so. Expenses, I plan those too. Like just two days ago, I made my annual purchase for everything household related. I buy all my paper goods, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, floss, etc for the entire year. It saves me time and money.

Sometimes I don't mind a little chaos. Like, if some guests decide to come over and throw off my toilet paper roll count, I'm not afraid to bend a little. :D I party hard at the pmann household.

With that said, I like to plan for what I can. I like excitement in some areas.
