Like when?

*squints*

I...did not even notice that! Well, I'd quibble, seeing as how I'm Scotch/Irish, but, honestly, she looks like she's doing a pretty good job. :p

I'm too Irish not to quibble! 😂

The funnier part though, is thinking of Chained surfing ... Italian porn? Is that a thing? I'm envisioning lost of salamis... Ba ha ha

Can't even derail my own thread, that's an indictment for sure. Of what, I don't know.

I'm curious as to how many Litsters check in during their work day. Maybe during break or while at lunch or even sitting in their office or cube. Sneaking the phone out of their pocket and looking at their favorite thread, checking for a PM, answering one.

I would have to think a large majority of Litsters sneak in a few moments on company time.

Break or lunch, yes. I don't check Lit much at my desk at all. To busy working.

I do. Usually when my boss is driving to location or if I am taking a moment for myself during the work day. Every once in a while if I'm working alone...

I don't while I am at work, but before I leave for work, and the first thing when I get home, I check to see if I have any PMs, and if there are any threads that I might respond to quickly

I tried to derail and the darn picture didn't show up, so at least you beat me.

I check Lit from work frequently. I'm a terrible person. :(

I usually check in while I have my morning coffee, then again at night. If I'm having a particularly stressful day I'll check in at lunch or on a break. Ahem...like now, for instance. In the break room, having a light breakfast and watching coverage from Rio.
Good morning, everyone.

I check in through the work day, but I work virtually and have control (theoretically) over my hours, so it all just depends on what's going on in a given day.

Occasionally I will log in while I'm at work. But 95% of the time, I log into Lit from home. This afternoon, for example, I am working from my house for the last few hours of the day due to an earlier out of the office appointment. So it affords me the luxury of sneaking onto Lit for a peek.

How about a little late afternoon derailment? ;)

This place is definitely losing its derailment mojo. Back in the day even a hint of the word would Make this place topsy-turvy.

Most of us have friends at different levels. Some really close, some mere acquaintances. How stable are those levels for your friends. Do you have mere acquaintances that have turned into super close friends? Do you have a super close friend that for some reason faded away? Are those movements one way or do they move around a bit?

My tribe is small, selective but those that are in it are keepers and don't fluctuate much. There are other acquaintances who come and go but I am fiercely loyal to the ones closest to me.

For me, there tends to be some movements. I do have a handful of long term friends, and then a group of people who move in and out in terms of closeness depending on life circumstances. Because of the nature of my profession I travel a lot, often for extended periods of time, so geography plays a role in the movement. It's difficult to keep friendships particularly tight when there are long periods of time when simple things like getting together for coffee are out of the picture.

For that handful who are really close, then we make the conscious effort to maintain that level of intimacy, regardless of where we are or what we're doing in life. For those who were once close by have faded and not returned the usual cause has been significant life events (marriage, moving to another part of the country, children, etc.) where the time commitment for an intimate friendship is simply not available. Life flows.

I have several people here that I consider really good friends. Sadly, my time here has been a bit less lately because of real life, so I've not been able to keep in touch with my friends like I used to.

But I do care for those who I consider friends. So, if you've seen my dick, I truly care for you.

I have a small group of friends here that I feel very close to, a smaller group that I keep in touch with outside of Lit. There are many that I enjoy posting with on a casual level but haven't gotten to know well. Of course, a few dear friends have wandered away. I can only hope they find their way back.

Speaking of friends ...

Stable. My intimate friendships usually have a touch of kismet. I’m slow to get attached, but if a strong bond is formed, it doesn’t require constant tending. It just…exists. An independent entity with it’s own heartbeat.

One of my close friends lives out of the country. She’s done so for over a decade and neither of us is good at maintaining contact. We may only talk every couple of years. Still, when she got into a spot of bother a little while back I immediately hopped a plane. Time and space. Pfft.

I require a lot of non-social downtime, so most of my relationships remain superficial yet friendly. At least friendly as long as they can put up with me being crap at keeping up the usual social amenities.

So. Do all your friends sport nice racks, VT? :D

I join you in that evil. Thank gosh for smartphones

I realize I'm back-tracking here, but I'd just like to point out that ^this^ smut-lovin heathen, who checks Lit at work, just said "thank gosh."

I thought it was cute and deserved attention.

That's because LilSis, Pmann, and myself have been absent much of late.

I have one BFF that I met in kindergarten. Everyone else has come and gone--some for short stints, some much longer. But he is my rock, my constant, and I love him like a brother. And I am his rock, his constant, and love him like a sister.
