btw, where is our resident gay porn expert?

Shush...I still mess up occasionally and open one of her links, then I'm thinking "Why? You knew better then that."...LOL....but she does need to show up and brighten things up a bit.

Don't let the Planet of The Apes Zombie thing throw you off... the girl on the left has heavenly tits!

Naughty girls, bad boys. We all love them. Nobody wants to hang out with the straight laced, perfect acting person. What we really love is the person that looks like they're straight-laced but actually bad/naughty. So the question is, why doesn't the societal norm change more than it does? Why is bad/naughty still bad/naughty? Why do we still view kinky/naughty as outside the norms when it's all fairly mainstream anyway?

Because we still use words like kinky and naughty. It sets certain activities apart from others, when in reality...with two (or more) consenting adults in the room, it's not naughty at all.

A lot of it has to do with our mental inability to accept as many new things as we age. It's biological. And with the broad spectrum of kink, it's hard to grow boundaries when every single person has a different le el of acceptance. Plus let's face it, much of our founding population was prudes. We haven't escaped that 200 years later. (Strictly speaking from a us citizen)

Ah, what the hell is normal, anyway?

What's totally acceptable to me, might seem batshitcrazy to the next person. And vice-versa. There is no normal imo.

Anyway, I'm perfectly straight-laced and well behaved. *nods*

I'm pretty normal, mostly. If you met me, aside from being charmed to death, you'd think I was normal. I look pretty normal, albeit incredibly fashionable. I have a normal job. I make hair dolls of people I stalk. I run around pretending I'm a unicorn sometimes. All normal shit.

And, based on the kinks some of you have, I'm rather normal in that realm too (at least if you compare me to the fetish forum people). I used to think missionary was kinky, but then I found this site.

Normal is fine as long as it isn't boring. For me, the eccentric stuff is like icing on a delicious cupcake. If you have too much of it, it's boring. But if it's all just cake, then you long for something a little more icing like. (I really want a cupcake)

I think we have incentive to keep things that are not necessarily so "taboo" as naughty. They lose their appeal otherwise. I mean, I'm sure we all watch goat on goat porn from time to time. But, if the 'Goats In Your Throat' website didn't say "XXXXX, HARDCORE, TABOO", we probably wouldn't go there as often, now would we? And if we knew that the guy in the cubicle next to you was looking at that site too, you'd be a little disappointed.

We like pushing the limits. Or at least thinking we are. Something about our boundaries being pushed intrigues us. Something about thinking we are kinkier than the next guy makes us happy and a little more pleased with out sexual escapades.

I don't view it as outside the norm at all. It's all pretty mainstream these days. I doubt the statistical distribution of sexual variance has changed more than a percentage point or two in the general population. What has changed is that people are far more willing to talk openly about it and are more vocally accepting of it.

It kind of puts me in mind of the earlier discussion on manners. Going to a family diner wearing your assless chaps is just tacky. Putting on a pair of pants doesn't mean you're strait laced, it just means you understand that not everyone wants to see your ass hanging out over waffles.

I don't agree with the premise of your statement. Bad boys and naughty girls might be fun on occasion, but to hang out with on any type of regular basis? Meh.

There've been a couple of bad boys exes. Great sex, both of them, but complete train wrecks in every other aspect. I rarely find myself attracted, but if I do, it’s some other aspect of their character that has piqued my interest. The “bad boy” part leaves me cold.

I like stable, I like focused, I like dependable, I like knowing someone is devoted to me and has similar goals and interests. I’m volatile enough myself without adding anything else to the mix. Besides, comfort and security are important. The bad boy types I’ve known have hardly been career driven, or even tolerably capable of handling a checking account.

I’m straight-laced. Sue me.

Bad girls on the other hand…. I have a couple of girlfriends I hang out with a few times a year. Lot’s of fun! Occasionally. In small doses.

Did I answer the question? Probably not. :D

Let’s see…. Just because a subject is all over the media, doesn’t mean it’s actually mainstream. Plus, while kink is becoming more socially acceptable, the boundaries continue to get pushed. What might have been shocking a decade back is no longer cutting-edge kink. It's difficult to normalize something if it's association resides in small fringe groups.
