Literotica Trip Planning Thread

If there's a big reversal of fortune, I'm voting Isla De Mujeres, Mexico.

Oh holy crap!! Yes yes yes!!! Isla De Mujeres would be wonderful!! I loved my last trip there and had a wonderful time!!

If I have to make a vote for a place I would say lets do the Caribbean in January and for those who can't attend then, let's do a cruise in the Greek Isles next summer. That way the Caribbean can be a bright spot in the winter for those who can save up fast enough and the Greek Isles can be available for the European based who might not be able to come as far as the Caribbean.

What say you all?

I agree with you Gigi. We were in Isla De Mujeres in Jan and had a great time. As for the Greek Isles, one of my majors was classical archaeology and I did a lot of studying on them.:D:D

No date yet! So far we've had six people express interest in less than 24 hours, so let's see for another day or so if others are interested, and we can figure out who's available when. My thoughts are for either January (for Caribbean/warm climates) or next summer (for Europe/cool climates).

keep me updated!

Okay! I have signed up as a consultant for a national agency. I sent in my payment right before 5 yesterday, so naturally I'm not set up yet. I'm spending the weekend working on my website instead - I had it set up one way last night, but this morning I decided I didn't like it so I am changing it. :)

I would love to go… I absolutely love traveling... however their is and if, if I can find a date. Sorry, but I would rather not hang out with my sex crazed friends and have nobody to play with. Unless someone is willing to donate

Touristy stuff I want to do, Belize has been on my list, I reeeeeally want to go there. Trinidad & Tobago is also on the list, Rio, Equator, Peru, I could go on and on.

Also, I basically have no money, all my funding goes into education, so any time I travel it’s with a backpack… that’s my budget. Soooo, if you can get me there and back for super cheap I think I can find the rest on my own.

I have another suggestion as far as a winter vacation that is relatively inexpensive right now: Argentina. The word is that it is much cheaper to spend a holiday in Argentina (with the exchange rate and all) than going to Europe. And since they are below the equator, they would be in their summer months while we are suffering through the winter blahs here.

Argentina would be awesome!

Ahem, I think the shopper here just wants to hit the 9 de Julio Avenue

Argentina would be nice though, but I can't plan that far ahead.

However, Christmas in a european style city... in the middle of summer

That would be an experience.

Here is another suggestion: Rio De Janerio for Carnival. I mean who doesn't want to go be the girl or boy 'in' Ipanema?

*wiggle*

Come to New Orleans!

Meh, while it is a great place to visit during the rest of the year, I don't ever want to go back to NOLA during Mardi Gras. :) Besides, wouldn't you like the chance to celebrate in another place?

I don't care for you.

All right ladies and gents (and invited transgendered species)!

I think a Caribbean cruise is a great plan. Cruising is a good type of travel because there are possibilities for all budgets. If you need to keep things tight, you can get an inside room. If you want to splurge, you can get a balcony or a suite. I have a lot of experience with cruising, myself, so I think it would be great for us.

Right now I would like to propose the following two cruises:
  • January 8, 2009: Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas, 4 nights. Leave from Fort Lauderdale, 1 day at sea, 1 day in Cozumel, 1 day at sea, and back to Fort Lauderdale. Starting at $379pp for an inside cabin, up to $769pp for deluxe and suite.
  • January 5, 2009: Carnival Imagination, 4 nights. Leave from Miami, 1 day in Key West, 1 day in Cozumel, 1 day at sea, and back to Miami. Starting at $269pp for the lowest cabin, up to $759pp for the big suite.
Prices do not include taxes, fuel supplements, or airfare. I can easily arrange airfare if desired.

Also, let me know what you think of this being open to other parts of Lit - it could be a giant LitCruise. Probably the first ever!

I'll be in New Orleans in July! But really, what about the cruise, folks? I think those two would be great. I'd be fine with either one. How about the First Annual LitCruise?!

fuel supplements?

are those prices for the whole cruise? Also are the cabins shared? and how about a flight from LAX or Ontario (usually cheaper) It would be awesome just to get to Florida, never been.

Yeah, fuel supplements are standard these days. Bus lines have raised their fares, airlines have fuel supplements, cruises do too, all to account for oil being $100+ per barrel.

Yes, those prices are for the whole cruise, it includes food and and activities entertainment and everything! You have to pay for drinks and shore excursions. (I usually sneak some liquor of my own on board, and mix it with the juices you can get anytime.)

Cabins usually hold two people. If you put more than two people in a cabin, their prices are cheaper. Say it's $400 each for the first two people, it might be $100 for the 3rd person. So the total is $900, and you split that three ways and it's $300 each. Those are made-up numbers but it's pretty close to normal.

Looks like it's $250-300 for airfare from the L.A. area to Florida.
