So how long does it take for stories to get posted on this site anyway? I can't sign up for the author's thing (I forget what it's called), and I'd really like to, but I have to have 1 published story on this site, and I submitted one a month ago and it's still not up. I thought this was only supposed to take a week or so. Does anybody know?

MathGirl come quick.
Nevermind Sensual - private joke to crack myself up.

It varies from a couple days to maybe a week, but it should never be month. What does it say on your Submissions page? Still say Pending?

You can Personal Message (PM it is called), Laurel. Look at the top of the list of threads for the Author's Hangout and you'll see A thread started by her. Go into the thread, find the first posting started by Laurel, click and her name, and choose from the menu that pops up, to send her a personal message.

Don't bother Laurel; she's busy enough. She may not have time to respond anyway. Rumor has it she's recieving 120 plus submissions a day any more. SHe's too busy to have the stories up it seems. Bothering her seems a bad choice in terms of showing appreciaton of what she and Manu have done to give us this site to begin with.

I'd say, just wait it out.

Might just be me though.

Normally, I'd agree. But a month seems like something has dropped through the cracks.

If a month were normal now, I'd think we've have seen something on AH about it. I haven't submitted in a while. Anyone with stories posted in the last couple weeks care to chime in? How long did it take?

Unfortunately, the only stories I have submitted lately have been for contests and they come up in a few days max. What is needed here is someone really in the 2005 survivor contest. The have to submit often and will have a good idea of the current wait time.

I've submitted two new stories in the past two weeks (not part of any contest), and they both took just three days.

Kaya, check your submissions page, as Ted suggested. You might find an answer there.

Yeap... a couple of new stories and holding steady at 3 days.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Kaya, how did you submit them? By e-mail or via the submissions box on your member page?

Okay, so I was lazy...

I skimmed and thought Kaya said it's been about a week...

However, if the answer isn't, as minsue suggested, on the submissions page, then perhaps she should simply re-submit.

Has she checked her e-mail? I don't know how rejected stories are handled to say how Laurel would respond in such sitiations.
