One of my stories has disappeared.

One of my stories that was published here has disappeared. The flash drive I had the original file on is corrupted so I need to redo the story. Can anyone help me figure out how to find previously published stories of mine on this site? I have zero idea what happened to it. Nor do I remember the title or file name. Still, I only have 17 published stories here... so if we can find #18 ...

Did you get a rejection notice? Usually, stories only disappear if someone has reported it, in which case the site takes it down and refers it back to you. So far as I'm aware, it returns as if it was still in Draft.

If the text doesn't come back, at least you'll know the story, and could PM Laurel, ask her to send you what's been taken down.

You could try a Wayback Machine site that archives the internet. But such a site may not have your story and if it was deleted for a reason then resubmitting might very well end in rejection. So try ElectricBlue’s advice. I would hope that the site admins here would not delete a story without informing the author of the act and the reason why.

The site doesn't delete stories unless you ask it to. If a story gets reported and taken down, and the author doesn't do anything about it, it stays in the archive, hidden. Same as all of the illustrated naked content - it's been archived, but not purged.

I checked that, but that author page's not in the archive.

However, when my story count dropped by 1, it turned out to be because one of mine that had previous been counted in "stories" was now counted under "audio" instead. Wondering if something similar happened with OP's one piece in Poetry.
