You know I want it :D :rose:

I'm not much of a cook so this is a dump stuff together & tweak it out thing.
I usually make a huge cauldron but tonight I tried a big crock pot.

1 – 2 pounds ground meat (your choice)
1 med onion diced
1 – 2 cans each:
Black beans
Chili beans
Red or other beans
sweet corn
diced tomato (your choice with or with out peppers like Rotel)
1 package of chili powder seasonings
1 bottle of V8 Juice (your flavor choice)
1/3 cup ground horse radish

brown the meat & diced onion. drain the fat off
add the rest to make as thick or thin as you like
let it simmer in a pot or in a crock pot.
Tweak out with cock sauce (sriracha hot sauce ((it has a rooster on it))
~ if you like it hotter.

Nice. Thank you. I like the V-8 and horseradish ideas. I like the Rotel idea too. I'd leave the cock sauce on the side for individual preference. :)

Yum. I made some chili last winter using braised short rib for the meat and it came out really good. I'm thinking something along those lines for this . . . .

Thanks Starry :rose:

Let me know how it comes out.
I like the V8 juice cause it's healthier and if you want it hot they have it, low salt, they have it
Peppers & hot sauce gives me heart burn due to my meds... but the horse radish doesn't but still has the kick.
you can tweak this out to whatever meat or Veggie alternative you like. I like to mixed up the beans.
Bushes now makes black chili beans so I must have been doing something right for years now.

Thanks for the recipe Starry.

. . . and for the tunes all afternoon BBB.

See you later, I'm clocking out.

Space Oddity. We were talking about Bowie's death at breakfast this morning. My son looked at me and asked if that meant he was going to be hearing Space Oddity all day because it was good music but the lyrics always get him sad. A 17 year old doesn't like to tear up in front of his friends. ;)

How rude of me - didn't even say hello, or thanks for streaming, BBB. It's therapeutic today.

BBB, can't stay for the whole show, but wanted to drop in, catch a bit of Bowie, and say thanks for the music tribute . . . well done!

It's like being at a wake, Starry - nice to see you too, but sorry about the circumstances. My god, Bowie was such a part of my 'formative' teenage years. Nobody like him.

Hi starry . . . been lurking on your thread a bit . . . enuf to say thanks for all you do! :)

Strange night indeed . . . always tough to say goodbye to someone you grew up with.

I know what you mean :rose:

Honey you don't have to lurk you can stop by for hugs anytime.
I tend to hide there when other places on Lit get unfriendly in ignoring anything I post.
I have issues with rude people & desperate for attention sponges.

No one is ever rude or desperate on Lit!! :D :D

Yep...I agree.

No one is ever rude or desperate on Lit!! :D :D

Especially the basement dwellers.

I completely understand. On the day of his death, I was called by multiple different people to make sure that I was okay. It took several months before I could hear his name without tearing up.

Had someone I know who lives in Oregon & this fall took the cocktail from her doctor.
I just have to keep reminding myself it's all about their choices not mine. :(
