So the indulgences of Christmas are over and the New Year looms.

I was wondering if writers here have any Lit Resolutions. I'm going to try very hard to write a story in most of the categories, I'd love to say all, but there are some that just wont fly. Just to make sure I TRY to keep to this resolution I'm starting with an incest one.

I also plan to learn how to set up a sig line and have my story link without having to cut and paste everytime - or when I remember :)

Wow ambitious, aren't I? :)

Twice in a row, I've been working my ass off to win the Survivor Contest, only to be robbed of the First Place at the last minute.

I solemnly swear... that 2004 will be the year a Swede wins Survivor!!!:catroar:

Like Svenskaflicka and, apparently, Green Gem, I intend to be a contender to win the Survivor Contest next year. I expect to finish fourth this year, unless Chicklet posts a lot of new stories at the last minute, and I will not be able to catch Flicka. That's not bad since I was only around for 75% of the year and only signed on for immunities in August.

Flicka, right now, you are in third place. PenanceS is ahead of you with 150 points. You have been way behind MV for as long as I have been following the contest standings.

I will change my name to Mahsheed Noor NeshA and see if I get frisked more often at airports.

And I will get a job at the airport closest to She ...

I made a newyear's resolution many, many years ago which I still keep to this day. Don't make any newyear's resolutions.

Although the survivor contest looks v.tempting, I just don't have sufficient resolve.

I haven't made new year's resolutions since I was a very young girl. I also stopped giving anything up for Lent then too. I rarely make promises. I know myself well.

I am going to do my best to never say no to a female, who is in need of sex.

I will continue with my no diet policy from last year. That seemed to work out well.

And remaining firm this will not be the year I quit smoking! :D

OMG NO!! I have absolutely no intention of even attempting the Survivor Contest. I take my hat off to those who do, since it looks like one hell of a lot of work and effort. I'm just going to try and attempt some new categories that I haven't written in this year :)

Good luck though to the Survivor contenders for 2003 and for 2004.

Thanks for the good wishes, Green Gem. :) When you said you were going to try to write a story in as many categories as you could, I took that to mean you were competing because that is the goal of those who do compete. :) I hope to be a contender; I just hope my wife doesn't get pissed-off when I spend so much time writing.

I was thinking of joining the Survivor contest only to get some motivation for writing in categories which I haven't attempted before. If I try to do it without something like the Survivor thingie kicking my behind, I don't think I'll get around to doing much. I'm so pathetic! :D

GG, PM me if you want help putting your link in your sig. line. :)

I resolve to spend a little more time at lit back in the boards. Also to stop staying up late typing stories, I can't feel my fingers am typing with tongue here:D. I will crest two hundred easily this year points wise and I also hope to be a contender next year. But timewise it may not work out I'm doing a lot more now than I was. I also vow to go home for Xmas next year and not work. Hmmm, to go a year without pissing MG, Svenskaflicka or any other potential foes off. LOL... Enjoying my daughters and watching them grow up. Yep that works.

The resolutions that worked for me had no connection to the New Year whatsoever. On purpose.

Here's a secret: those are doomed to fail.

:D

Hey MasterV! Good to see you again!

I'm like Perdita. If you want to do something, you just do it; you don't just promise yourself you'll do it. And if you do want to promise yourself you'll do it, you'd might as well start now. You sure don't have to wait for New Year's.

Besides, for me the New Year feels like it starts in spring anyhow, probably when the flowers start to come up in April or May. I never did understand this January 1st thing. Roman, isn't it? What's so special about January 1st? Around here it still looks like the old year. Kind of hard to feel like it's 2004 when you're still watching 2003's ass going out through the door.

My only resolution is to stay away from the Gender Genie thread this time.
I get that, Laurencita. If I made resolutions one would be to not post anything to pure, but every so often I just can't help myself. Of course I regret it as soon as it responds. So, still no promises.

Perdita

p.s. I've checked it out and that thread is currently the most boring thing on the AH, imo. :p

I'm going to get another Lit identity so that I can ask MG the question.

As a recyled "virgin" I will ask all the questions that newbies ask and see how long I can keep my new persona separate from Og.

If I keep all my posts under 20 words and my stories to under 1,200 words I might get away with it.

Well you made a pretty good start there Ogg but if I were you I'd go with trying to keep the posts down to 1200 words first.

Gauche

I want to help Og come up with his new identity.

I'm seeing something along the lines of Snoop Dog or PDiddy. Og, this will allow for short posts but it will require a certain amount of rhyming. Are you up for it? Can I be your confidante? Oh please, oh please! I'll start searching for new non-Og AVs right away.

I love this project.
