~~> Lit Lessons Learned <~~

I learned that most people if unchecked are assholes to each other. Oh and I have learned that truth is only as real as your can prove it to be. I'm a real girl Gepeto! I have even pushed a kid out of my girl parts, but I keep being accused of not being honest about that. Totally lame! That people will say anything to get what they want. Oh and my personal favorite... That if someone tells you no as one alt, then you should message them with multiply ones till one hits pay dirt. (p.s. I only have this account for all those losers that have conspiracy theory on the brain)

Now Lit isn't all bad. I have also leaned how a kind word can change a day. How a thoughtful message can help someone who is going through a ruff patch. I have seen bullies put in their place, Seen the joy of those sharing news and updates who most likely have no one in their worlds to do so with. I have meet some truly awesome, creative and motivating people here. I have been able to see myself through others eyes and make adjustments as needed. Hey as I said I am not perfect. So I continue to evolve. Thanks Lit for your help in that.

Well said... me too. :rose:

I am complicated, and those who care about me let me be.

They also put me in my place when I need it.... I do the same. :)

Sometimes PM conversations just hit a point of natural entropy where one person or the other just never talks again. It's not always that one person or another said something wrong.

Chances are, if you care enough to worry over whether you did or said something wrong, and can be pretty certain that you didn't make a complete ass of yourself, you're probably fine and things just drifted off. It happens, let the flow of the universe resume around you and enjoy yourself.

I've been on Lit for less than a year and being the shy thing that I am have spent most of my time here on the poetry boards. Which brings me to my first lesson.

Lesson one almost no one, other than the poets themselves, read the poetry boards.

I had an alt for a little while but I'm not cut out for multiple personalities. One is plenty thanks. Though I do understand why some people have them. Hello, fantasy sex site...

I've made friends here, people I'd love to have over for cookouts and the like if they lived close enough and I've made "buddies" here that I'm content being online pals with. Relationships come in many shapes and sizes and it's often surprising who fits in the various categories.

I take people as they present themselves, knowing that most people are representing their best selves is not a problem, it's encouraging. Some people represent their worst selves, that's also encouraging because ain't if fucking grand that they can.

If someone creeps me out or makes me want to YELL I can simply hit ignore and *poof* they disappear. I try not to do that because facing shitty people or shitty things decent people sometimes say and how I react to them is always a learning moment, I like learning more than I like being comfortable.

This place isn't all fantasy, but when it comes time to fire up the fantasies, it's good to remember that fantasies are individual things, so in most cases you're either going to be fulfilling someone else's or having yours fulfilled. It's not often the twain will meet, so if you don't enjoy both, don't bother playing with others.

Honesty isn't always the best policy. Humanity is the best policy. If the two conflict, go with the humanity, you'll never regret it.

Assholes are assholes whether they have 50,000 or 20 posts. Don't let anyone intimidate you. There are plenty of boards, rooms and threads for you to play on. Meaning there is a comfortable, happy place for everyone. Don't let a board or a couple of posters discourage you from looking for what you came here for.

Always try and remember the ORIGINAL reason why you came on Literotica. It will help keep things in perspective once you start posting on the boards.

IGNORE is your friend. There is nothing noble about not putting complete asshats on ignore. Hopefully, you wouldn't sit with, talk with or listen to them in RL why should you here?

(Edit: this especially applies to those of you who venture to the GB)

I have learned that there are a lot of wonderful people on here and friends to be made. I hold those sweet gentlemen closest to my heart and talk to them whenever possible.

I have also learned that there are assholes on here that will do nothing but tear your heart out of your chest, throw it in the blender and hit frappe.

And don't ignore a PM from a person of the same sex, a friend may just be hiding behind the AV. I enjoy having girl talk with the ladies on here.
