I went to Portobello Road today, an antique street market in the West London area.

As usual the place was crowded with tourists from all over the world but today every tourist seemed to be from the States.

Completely unbidden Lit, or more accurately the people on Lit, came flooding into my mind.

For the rest of my visit I just couldn't stop thinking of all the people I know from the Boards. I spent most of the time wondering whether someone I passed was Dr Insanus, Morningirl5, Lavender, JenJ, Closet Desire....and so on.

I swear it was like being hypnotised. I didn't come to until I got home and couldn't hear any more American accents...

Weird...

Don' t mean to scare you, but I've been there. Not today, but in the past. Great market! I don't remember it being held on Tuesday though, I thought it was a Friday market. It has been awhile...

Okay, I seriously need some meds now. P_P_man was wandering about me sneaking around and I was laughing at my Purple Passion book because of his name.

The book is all hot air and no substance, so I guess MY lit-obsessed moment was accurate.

and you're complaining?

That wasn't a complaint...that was unbridled joy...:D

Cheyenne...I was there on business but you're right it's open on Saturdays usually, maybe Fridays...I'm not sure. But tourists still flood the area because of the tiny antique shops that are there permanently.

Are you sure you weren't there today?:D

Oops, you're right. It was Saturday. Had to remember back to my scheduled stops. Lots of tables in row after row as I recall. Lots of silver in particular. I'm still sorry I didn't buy a vase I saw there.

Nope, not there today though. Will be back sometime in the future though, so keep looking!

Try the chat rooms

And then see if you think you're spotting Lit folks: Mommy'sSlutCakes buying silver spoons....

shadowsource...

...that sounds like an interesting kinda game for these slow, boring nights...

part of the market is open everyday
the whole thing is at the weekend

And for further local information...

...it's open on Saturday 25th Aug, Carnival weekend.

But if any Lit people do go on that day there will NOT be millions of revellers in the streets. That starts on Sunday (Children's Day) through to Monday (Carnival Day).

pabloback and myself will be happy to answer any further questions on visiting London.

No fee...

But donations are gratefully accepted...:D

Lit has taken over my mind as well..
Tonight when my mother was driving me to my car (long story) we searched the parking lot I had left it in while we saw it.
"There's your car." My mother said, to which I replied. "Yep. There's Never's car."
However, I was looking away from her so I don't think she heard my refer to myself as 'Never'.

Nature abhors a vacuum

I'm really not surprised Lit took over your mind what with all that available space and everything:p

I have a split personality thing like that...

I dont think of myself as Da chef, but some others I refer to by their lit names and others by their real names. (Or the nicknames I made up for em)

So merelan will always be merelan no matter what her real name is

Laurel will be Tweety even if I knew her real name.

But others I know by their real name not their lit name

LOL's!!! Sometimes, (whoa)Mensa is just too damned cute for words! :D

I have my "Lit" moments also. But most of the time it invovles sexual situations ;)
