Since when is it the responsibility of the gov to provide housing for everyone? Or even anyone?

We have programs to assist the homeless, but those aren't mandatory on the part of the gov and the parameters of the programs cannot be unilaterally changed from homelessness to disaster relief. Nor are they intended to encompass the entire general population.

If you want to blame someone then blame the insurance companies for not doing what they contracted to do in a timely manner.

Campers and trailers are built as temporary homes. In Florida, they are disposable. Depending on them as permanent homes won't end well.

None of that means the government is required to give everyone a house.

It does mean that government has the power to require the insurance companies to honor their agreements and indemnify the losses suffered by their policy holders.

Sunshine has health benefits. Florida had a land bubble in the 1920s after the Spanish flu. That was a piece of the crash at the start of the Great Depression.

What we call poverty is ordinary human existence for most of world history, most of the world now, and our future without fossil fuels.
