Now that Lewis has soundly defeated that poseur Rahman, it opens the door to the long-awaited Lewis-Tyson bout. Who do you think will emerge as King of the Heavyweights?

Tyson lost it when Cus D'Amato died. He doesn't have the self-discipline to do the necessary preparation to be a champion without D'Amato. Heck, he doesn't have the self-discipline to not commit acts of sexual battery and ear-chomping.

If I was Lennox, I'd tape my ears down.

What boxing needs is a great White hope. But I guess that's as likely as a 5 time Black Jeopardy champion.

Hey bitch - off my thread! Boxing is not for children like you.

Neither man is in their prime (though Lewis was looking pretty good last night against Rahman). It's possible that Tyson has one last big fight in him. If he fights Lewis's type of fight and it goes the distance, Lewis will win, no question. But if Tyson still has any of that Tyson stuff, and he just charges at Lewis with everything he has, can Lewis take it? That's the question.

Tough words, tweet

Give a shit

I dont rate Lewis, never had... and the last fight he actually hit hard. I was very surprised. And yes, Rahmann was a pretender... but so's Lewis.

And Iron Mike used to be a boxer. It's been a long time since he was....

Lewis cant take Tyson on a hard night but I don't know whether there will be anything left in mike to do it.

I'll just watch the middleweights or something

A simple Lewis would have sufficed.

:(

I think Lewis could make use of his height advantage. Jabs to keep Tyson busy and look for combinations. Whenever Tyson has had to defend for extended periods he is ineffective.

I think Tyson could outpunch Lewis (easily) but Lewis learned his lesson with his loss to Rahman. Be patient.

I say Roy Jones Jr. and a stepladder VS. Lewis.

Teddy Atlas taught Tyson 1-2 combinations as anything more demanding was beyond him.One dimensional at best.Could you ever see Ali groping around for his gumshield as tyson did Vs Douglas...Now I know the critter is on this canvas somewhere.

As for Lewis learning his lesson after Rahman...well I thought that after Oliver McCall stretched him out!!

Bring back Jess Willard.

Lewis' fight is the kind of fight that you have to fight to beat Tyson. Use the jab to set up that thundering right hook, then tie Tyson up before he can throw anything with bad intentions. If you look at every fight that Tyson lost (with exception of Holyfield 2) this was his downfall. You will not knock him out with one punch, but if you can land hard and heavy over the course of the fight, he will either a) lose his composure and get himself disqualified or b) succumb to the multitude of damaging blows and go down for the count. Tyson must rely on knocking Lewis out, and to do that he MUST beat him to the punch. I dont think Mike has the handspeed negate the reach advantage that Lewis holds over him.

Lewis will win it if he uses his jab to the full. He isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer as evidenced by his rat-shit showing against my compatriot David Tua. He could have taken Tua out early if he had used his jab, but he ended up waltzing with him for the whole fight.
Tyson is nothing but a semi-coherent mad dog that should be put down. Lewis' jab should keep him out of firing range, so that Lewis can unload some decent leather. It has to be a quick fight for Lewis to win though.

There are no more good Fights

How long have we been hearing about such a fight from these Pimps? When the fighters are Hot, they never meet...Swabhead eats your money for years now before it ever happens:cool:

I disagree...

How many fights longer than 4 rounds has Tyson won? How many has he even been in that have lasted more than 6 rounds? How long has it been since he has fought a reputable fighter?

Lewis has been through 12 round wars with Evander Holyfield and others. Tyson must win fast or he will fall in the later rounds, especially if Lewis uses his jab effectively to set up the right hook.

You have a point there Pilot, but I still maintain that if Lewis stays in that ring for too long with Tyson, he will have his head handed to him. Tyson is as stupid as he is ugly but he has steel in both hands, and Lewis hasn't really been tested by a powerhouse puncher. If you are going to mention Holyfield, forget it. As strong as he was, he didn't have anywhere near the punching power of Tyson. Lewis has to drop him hard and fast or he will go down... spectacularly.

All valid points Kiwi, guess we will just have to see what happens in the months ahead...will they even fight? I hope so! Who will win? That's why they have the fight. It sure is fun discussing it though, and stating why we think our choice will win the fight!

Oh My God.... what a scary concept. ROFLMAO... care to pick a winner?:D

I don't know but the losers would be anyone who watched that debacle.

As for Lennox Lewis, Tyson has never done well against tall opponents. Sure he'll be motivated but so will Lewis. Tyson hasn't been a top-notch heavyweight for 10 years now. Tyson's more of a sideshow act than a title contender but beating him gives Lewis the legitmacy he craves.

Lewis would knock out Tyson in about eight rounds.

Lewis will probably win it if he can make Tyson go past 5 rounds.

Tyson Comes out real fast and power punches but he wastes his strength early. As holyfield showed if you can stay away from Tyson and make him chase you he will tire real fast and you can then batter him in the later rounds.

Lewis on the other hand when he loses does so early because he gets careless. He has to pay attention to where he is in relation to his opponents power.
