Let's Get Deep

Ooo I like this.

Hollow Moon

The Hollow Moon hypothesis, or Spaceship Moon hypothesis, proposes that Earth's Moon is either wholly hollow or otherwise contains a substantial interior space. No scientific evidence exists to support the idea; seismic observations and other data collected since spacecraft began to orbit or land on the Moon indicate that it has a thin crust, extensive mantle and small, dense core, although overall it is much less dense than Earth.

What do you think about that theory?
I’m inclined to dismiss it based on the data collected.
I put substantial stock in science.
The fanciful part of my brain thinks a hollow moon would make a great hideout if we ever needed one.

Well the theory is it is an artificial body, placed to capture all extinction event meteors.

Conspiracy theorists say that the moon resonates like a bell when struck.
They also claim that for the moon to be exactly the right distance from the earth and the sun to create a perfect solar eclipse and lunar eclipse is so astronomically improbable, it is proof the moon was placed.

Me, I disagree.

Me, I disagree.

I also disagree. The moon is a subject of such lore that it doesn’t strike me as strange that the conspiracy theorists would be as enthralled as the rest of us.
The moon controls quite a bit. Plus... there’s moonlight which has its own magic.

The moon is definitely magical.

Its part of so many rituals. Moon magic is very powerful.

****Not that I'd know anything about that...****

Eg. Right now the moon is In Sagittarius. This is the best time to work magick for publications, legal matters, travel, and truth. Healing rituals for ailments of the liver, thighs, or hips are also done at this time.

But as I said, I wouldn't know anything about that.

Just imagine what our ancestors thought about all that mystery in the sky when they lacked science to explain those giant lights in the sky.

People are always quick to talk about what an amazing time it is to be alive today but I kind of miss that not knowing, where anything is still possible. I'm 100% thankful for modern medicine but imagine the conversations you could have among friends about what's on the other side of the moon. The side we never see, the dark side....

The moon could be the Earth’s “storage shed out back” filled with the vintage atmospheres of yesterday-millennia

I do believe this is one conspiracy I can pass by without a second thought. Although it would be cool to hear...

Plus... there’s moonlight which has its own magic.
This I completely agree with.

Imaginings about the dark side...always a fave.

On the subject of the moon, it's the ideal place to start deep space exploration. With discoveries of huge cave systems, lunar bases can be made by robotic equipment and controlled by androids possessing high end AI. All the things people on earth are afraid of seeing exist among us here, are perfect to start deep space exploration and research.

Once a base has been established, people can begin inhabiting it on a full time basis to study the effects of weightlessness on a long term basis and begin genetically modifying select people to alter our DNA and physical make-up to handle the rigors of long term space travel.

It will also serve as an observatory with unimpeded deep space search capabilities and a constant monitoring of earth and its atmosphere. Meteor locating and retrieval would be capable with the advantage of 1/6 gravity and no atmosphere for it to burn up in. One huge meteor made of ice could supply all the water needs for a colony of 100 for a thousand years. Other precious metals exist in abundance in the meteor belt that could provide huge amounts of exotic metals for space cruisers and other explorative equipment. Huge cruisers can land and take off from the moon with little effort.

Anyone else feel this is the best way to go about space exploration?

This takes GMO's to an entirely new level...

It does, but in a necessary way. We would virtually die off in very little time the way we ware physically made up currently. Weightlessness is extremely detrimental to how we function and modifications are needed to achieve prolonged durations in space without physical deterioration. Our bodies are designed to live on Earth's atmosphere and need to be altered to adapt, so yes, we would become a GMO in essence.

I wonder if the "Twin Study" NASA did with Mark and Scott Kelly will offer insight into the necessity of humans as GMO's? As it relates to long-term residence in zero-gravity, that is.

It could provide a basis for the need for human cloning, that designing one human successfully is easier than multiples and cloning that one in multiples ensures continued success.

I could use some magic for travel and hips and thighs? Does this mean it's a good time to start working out? :)

I'm fascinated by what it was like before civilization. I would love to see vistas and forests as they were years ago, in ancient time, long before cars, and electricity and buildings crowded what used to be.

I often think of sitting around a campfire, looking up at what the sky MUST have looked like. I'm often overwhelmed when I see a country sky as my "daily version" of sky is masked by suburban lights.

The moon could be the Earth’s “storage shed out back” filled with the vintage atmospheres of yesterday-millennia

Oh what a fascinating idea. I'd love to see a movie made about that.

I don't know much about GMO's in all fairness. It's a topic I've been meaning to look further into but haven't researched. I'd love to hear more.

Cloning, now that's a fascinating subject. I love the idea for medical purposes but it feels rather Frankensteinesque to me.
I've yet to determine if I'm for or against.

I have about the same success rate as you, Tink. I try to follow some simple wisdom about things that happened yesterday. If it's happening, it's the present and anything can be done to achieve the outcome you desire. If it's in the future at any point, it hasn't happened and you have every chance to forecast the outcome of choice. If it's already happened, it's in the past and unchangeable. One must learn to accept those realities and learn from any mistakes. Sometimes, it's necessary to dwell on the past to fully understand all that happened, but it should only change the present in a positive way by learning from mistakes made and understood.
I find that gets me through some seriously tough times when it feels like the whole world and everyone in it sucks. ;)

I try to only stress about the things that I know will still have an impact 1 year from now. Doesn't always work, I'm a natural worrier but I've improved over the years.

We're very close to mapping out the entire human DNA helix and understand where everything lies on that chain. Once everything is pinpointed, certain attributes can then be manipulated synthetically to change them, (physical, organs, etc.) to perfect a human designed specifically for deep space travel and longevity. Lifespans could easily be extended to 150 years or more to accommodate light years of travel and return.

Then take that one designer-made human that's perfect for space travel and clone it to make up a crew that is trained for space. This promotes crew harmony, as only one person is interacting with itself and not another conflicting one. Consistency is another reason one human clone crews are better. Predictability makes monitoring things easier.

As for the average human on earth, cloning organs allows for prolonged life and less medical intervention with failing ones. Eventually, all abnormalities will be manipulated out of DNA to eliminate birth defects and allow every person a good, healthy life.

I'm not a proponent of GMO foods, especially anything from Monsanto. Genetically altering a plant should only be done to promote a strong natural growth, as opposed to pest controlled growth, or one designed to produce gigantic sized versions.

Am I the only one that finds that I'm in conflict with myself quite often?
I am not sure a crew of myself would not self-destruct rather quickly.

LOL :D If you were genetically coded, there would be none pf the inner conflicts you have now. Right from the start, you are only programmed with information to take on and handle your mission, with no input from outside sources of conflict.

Speaking of conspiracy theories, have you guys heard of The Convergence?

The idea is that magic is/has been real in the past, and that the laws of physics as we know them can change, evolve, in cycles Sometimes magic works, sometimes science works..etc.

The Convergence is when the magic comes back, and with it, the other races that once lived on earth. So imagine our world colliding with Middle Earth.

That sounds like an amazing concept for something I'd like to read. I haven't heard of it, and I am unlikely to put much stock in it, but it does point to the phenomenon that often occurs with lore.
Why do some legends occur over and over with no tangible evidence? Why do different cultures have similar stories despite existing in different regions with no overlap?
This would be an interesting explanation.

I love the idea of it as a writer, too. How would two worlds so different, manage not to destroy one another? Would there be a huge war, dragons vs fighter jets? Or would the technology just stop working?
