Let's Get Deep

I love the idea of it as a writer, too. How would two worlds so different, manage not to destroy one another? Would there be a huge war, dragons vs fighter jets? Or would the technology just stop working?

I think it would result in a split of dimensions,or a current timeline ceasing to exist.
Perhaps until recently we all actually lived in a world where dragons were commonplace, until one day we all woke up and they were gone and we had. No recollection of them ever being here.
It would explain deja vu as well

Speaking of conspiracy theories, have you guys heard of The Convergence?

The idea is that magic is/has been real in the past, and that the laws of physics as we know them can change, evolve, in cycles Sometimes magic works, sometimes science works..etc.

The Convergence is when the magic comes back, and with it, the other races that once lived on earth. So imagine our world colliding with Middle Earth.

There's actually some evidence of this having a reality. The Convergence is based on the idea of frequencies that everything is made of. Even now at certain times of the year, equinox's and solstices, certain changes happen in frequencies in objects that allow them to be manipulated in ways that only happen then and at no other time, (standing eggs on end in Spring).

The idea that a sequential planetary alignment could bring about a change is being studied, as more planets are being explored by probes and deep space telescopes using different frequency waves.

In essence, levitation has been proven with frequencies, glass shattered with sound, light waves bent to make something invisible and other marvels we know their origin, where in days past, the masses would only be awed by the 'magic' of it. So I believe magic exists in many forms and a convergence just might happen to bring about that conspiracy Nev. ;)

Sorry, guess I got too deep into it. I'll just read the posts and stop killing the thread. ;)

It's Sunday. I was watching zombies. :) I think you have valid points and I find all of it fascinating. It is true that there are unexplained phenomenon, I'd be intrigued to read any studies relating to this.

There is a lot that lends itself credence if you look long enough. Interestingly enough, I heard something about Deja Vu recently. Since we're living in a non-linear universe, where time is merely an illusion we create to understand our surroundings, deja vu is us, remembering whats happening in the future.

I did some research in college about deja vu for a paper. I can't remember as much of it as I'd like but I remember that when they observed brain activity in people experiencing deja vu, the most active part of the brain was not the hippocampus or other parts of the brain that would normally be associated with memory but instead seem to be linked to the part of the brain that deals with decision making.

The theory of parallel universes is most appealing to me though. I like the idea of a limitless number of me living out different lives where I made different choices with infinite results.

What makes your day brighter? I'm not talking about the big things, but what are the touchstones that make something a good day versus a mediocre one

In an infinite universe, there are an infinite number of possibilities. So, theoretically, somewhere in the multiverse, I'm having sex with Tink right this minute :D

Good then do that thing I like. I could use a WHOLE LOT of that.
I assume in that multiverse you know what that is. :D:devil:

What is your favorite carefree memory?
Was it a creek you liked to fish in? A drive you used to take in college?
For me, there's an old rope swing near a gorge that I still go to when I need to think.
The answers to the universe could probably be found in that spot.
I wish I had seen this thread when it was active. I need good, thoughtful conversation. Alas, I do not post much anymore. Anyway, to answer this, as a kid I would climb 20to 30 feet up into a tree where the beaches formed a nice sitting area. I would read or just think as I swayed with the tree in the breeze...sigh...I wish I was there now. 💞

When I owned my own business in my early twenties, I used to escape to Solvang California. There was a cattle ranch I was allowed to drive onto, and a big hill with an oak at the top. I'd go up there and spend hours just reading a book and forgetting about everything.

(The days before cell phones)

My mother and I would lay outside the trailer (yes trailer) on summer nights on a blanket. We'd look up at the sky. I still remember those stars, even though I've mostly lived in cities since. Someday I'd like to get that view back.

There's nothing wrong with a trailer. They can be warm, loving homes as well as anyplace. Your image sounds wonderful. 😊

Laying out in the front yard, watching the northern lights dance above the base. I've not seen the northern lights many times since then.

Well, you do, first off. But that's a big thing (in a little package).

I don't really know though, I'm an eternal optimist. I make every day a good day. Each day I'm a little stronger, a little further ahead than I was the day before. Especially these days, feeling healthy and whole. Complete Tolyk is complete.

Does this mean people are interested in this thread?!?!

That’s super exciting!
Yay!

I can get deep, its just that most people then ask me for another beer, so they can change the subject while I'm gone. I return and we're talking about fuel injection vs carbs :D

I:heart:carbs.
Lol

Why is that do you think? (Not the carbs that goes without saying because carbs are delicious) but why do people struggle to have meaningful conversations?
Isn’t listening and exchanging ideas what we do naturally?
I wonder if this is one of those traits that gets educated out of us as we grow up.
It shouldn’t be.
Thoughts?

So, what would you like to talk about? How about...is free will real, or just an illusion?

Oops, I think I just answered you question. We have short attention spans. I only made it to your post "I love carbs" and missed everything you posted. 🙀 So, ignore my post above as we have much more to talk about.

I am not sure it's educated out of us as much as it is beat out of us. The first time we are teased or make a mistake. It's only getting worse with social media. People tend to react before thinking. It's often easier to shut up, smile, and walk away. I've often wanted to continue a conversation, but being unsure how someone will react, it's easier to stay quiet. 🤔🐣

I used to work security at this local megachurch. One of those things where they are worth billions of dollars and only rich people can go to the main church etc

Anyway, there was this girl in maybe 10th grade, pale, shaking and crying hysterically, saying her parents were going to kill her. I went to talk to her, and she tells me thet the church school (private education associated with the church) grades the kids on things like comportment and attitude, they said the girl was too negative and her parents would punish her for it.

I wasn't sure she was serious. I had to ask others, they said she was telling the truth. There was nothing I could do. But it bothered me for so many reasons.

I think our society is turning us into mindless, thoughtless, perky, positive little worker/breeder/consumer bunnies.
