Let's ban hanns!

No, we cannot.

Someday, someone may want to ban A Desert Rose and who will stop that from happening?

A flood is a deliberate attempt to sabotage the forum. He should be banned.

He'll just come back under a different name.

You don't ban the name. You ban the I.P. address. Besides, getting rid of the name would put a smile on my face.

... but, I have to admit, this has been the most weak willed attempt to flood a forum that I've ever seen. It wasn't even a half-arsed attempt.

Time, place, & manner

The Supreme Court has said repeatedly that speech may not be prohibited because of its content, BUT the time, place, and manner of speech may be regulated. This is a private website, but Laurel follows a policy of respecting free speech.

As obnoxious as I find what Hanns has to say, I do not think he (she? it?) should be banned because of what he says. BUT a deliberate disruption of the board is something different. That gets into "time, place, and manner."

What about public computers such as the one's in my college's computer room? One user could lead to many others being impeded. Besides, many computers have dynamic IP addresses that change every time they connect. Are you going to ban all of them too, possibly blocking other subscribers on the same ISP? I know very little about the way the internet works, but it's obviously more complicated than banning an IP address.

I engaged in a bit of disruption today, on a much more localised level. So now I am apologising here to everyone I pissed off, and I am not going to demean that apology with excuses. I am sorry.

I think that is a good thing... So thank you.

I am also fearless, when it comes to spiders and snakes. Not mice though.

It is a good thing, as in "having no peer".

I'm not crazy about snakes.

Snakes are good things- they kill rats and mice. We like snakes. Snakes are our friends. They do not carry diseases, they kill the disease carrier.

Your biology lesson for today. (Like I am sure you needed it.LOL)

Okay. So it's not that easy. You block the subnet and see if VBoard has a killer cookie that can be set too. It would still be possible to post - but if it's akward to post then he's less likely to try and flood the forums again, right?

I'd rather like another type of bio lesson, but may fall under the heading of too much info.

I wonder what snakes do for recreation when not slaughtering rodents?

No wait... there is never too much info for this board, is there?

They lay out in the sun on hot rocks in the winter. In the summer, they lay under hot rocks. Well at least in the desert, they do.

One would need a reptilian brain to fathom it.

You do know that men have one, don't you? And it rules your sex drive.

And I am not kidding here. This is all true.
