I need to go through the thread listings more often. I didn't know there was a second geek thread going about. I've been to E3 twice, Gen Con Once, and I really ought to go to more cons, but I rarely have the time/money. Oh yeah, and I tend to wear mostly game/anime t-shirts
Nightwatch & Daywatch are a complete mind-fuck! Really, really insane...
However, I baulked at the idea of changing Wanted so much from the source material. The point is that Wesley is the son of The Killer - the greatest killer of Super-Heroes in the world...and where were they? Where was the re-writing of world history because the Super-Villans formed an army to kill all the Heroes, then changed the fabric of reality itself? And Wesley is a deeply unlikeable character - and, as a villan, that's the point. The story is the path of the villan rather than the path of the hero.
Man, what a missed opportunity!
However, that's not to say that it might not be an enjoyable movie if you watch it without that knowledge...I just can't.
So, Kick Ass...will Hit Girl be 10 years old I wonder??? Will she be carving people up with her swords and her foul mouth??? I doubt it...I'll shut my trap now...
I have actually seen both nightwatch and daywatch. Twisted fun I thought.

Wow, I didn't even know THAT backstory... I kew it was based, but didn't know he original material. I thought it did a good job on its own, but after I see your post, I'm glad I didn't know before. I would have ben disappointed, too!

Welcome mongostomp!
Like Kiss said, of course that gets you in the group. Not many have talked too much about gaming yet... although we are now all WELL versed in Smurf porn...
Feel free to come back whenever you like!
*bowing* always glad to expose people to new things.

Perhaps you will be exposing us to new things with your bow???![]()
Depends on where you're looking.
The Big Guy wants to take pictures!![]()

Morning my geek brothers and sisters!
im so glad to see i wasnt the only one who watched the Scream awards last night.
the watchmen clip was awesome. Orga is right in that it did move fast. however, what you caught glimpses of were almost like looking at the comic's panels come to life. was a fantastic few minutes.
the only part of the show i wasnt too thrilled about was that they let kevin smith on stage. how does he keep getting work?!?!?!
as for gaming...i play all 3 consoles. though at the moment ive been very busy kicking orc/goblin ass in WAR lol
I'm kind of perplexed as to how Kevin Smith keeps working as well. Although I don't think he can screw up Seth Rogen's career. It looks like he might have gone more the whole apatow route with the new movie, so hopefully it won't suck!
I'm planning on going to the midnight showing, I'm so damn excited.
