"Fuel gauge is almost full!" I heard Jackson call out. We couldn't take off now with that brute running about. It could get on board. It knocked Zoey's Molotov back and splashed before us sending a wave of heat that made us step back then the monster jumped over the flames.
"Kill it!" Rochelle cried.
Everyone opened up on it. The Tank charged through and a sailor was in its way and a brutal punch sent him flying into the dock water.
"No!" I shouted watching the guy disappear into the dark waters.
"Come to papa!" Francis yelled unloading ten shots into the Tank's back then followed it up with a few buttstrokes that did nothing but get its attention.
"Lure him back" I called out as Francis jumped back over the flames. Bill had loaded his M203 with another shot.
"Make this one count!" I said to him.
Like a professional the man lined up his shot using the side mounted sights as Francis taunted the Tank away from the others and pulled the trigger. 'BLOOP!' The warhead flew through the air. After ten or so meters it armed, and Francis lured him away more than enough and when the high explosive round slammed into its back there was enough force to drop it to its knees.
"Open up!" I shouted as all of the weapons fired at once. The Tank turned, tongue dangling from its mouth as its eyes flared up. We got its attention. It came running back and all of us took several steps back as it did. I must have went through 90 rounds all aiming for its chest and when it was close enough I went for his head, but it was just absorbing rounds like a sponge.
"Die already!" I heard Louis yell. It must have heard the command because the Tank staggered and fell onto its knees then onto its ugly face.
"Is it dead?" Caroline said. Bill ran up and fired several rounds into the back of its head for good measure.
"It is now"
On the radio I heard Jackson, "That's it! We're good!"
"You two, shut off the pumps and toss back the hoses," I said to two sailors, "Everyone else, back onboard. We're getting out of here." In the distance there was a great howl of another horde coming. "Jackson, we got a man overboard in the dock water."
"I see him, sir. We threw him a line. Don't worry about him" Jackson said.
