Left 4 Dead (Closed)

Caroline was watching Ellis and Allisyn, the way that they were sticking to each other. All the men were going and that meant her daughter's little lover. "Humph," she huffed as she watched the two of them kiss.
"What is wrong?" Bill asked her.
"Oh nothing, my soldier..." she said looking back at him for a split second before looking back to the young couple.

"Let's keep count. If I get over 200 before you, I get to...ahh let's see.." Francis said thinking on the bet with his lover Rochelle. That's when the idea came to mind.

"Oh don't be thinking anything lewd, mister!" Rochelle said as she turned to him.

"Damn it," he said before continuing towards the cars.

"Wow, this ship is amazing. And you guys did it all yourself?" Kate said as she turned to Jackson, looking at all the different controls on the ship. "This should be a routine job. Shouldn't be too much issue."

"Yeah that's what they all say, until they see the tanks," one of the sailors said looking to her, finishing up his duties.

"A tank?" she questioned. Then she saw the look on the guy's face. "Oh, must be bad. We haven't had one of those, whatever they are, here."

Jackson paused for a moment as he stood next to Kate. Her response to the Tank told him that she wasn't entirely familiar with the special infected. "It's bad" he said without being condescending, "We don't know how or why the virus mutated them this way, but these things are huge! Bigger than all of us. They can rip chucked out of the ground and heave them like a football and crush us under their fists. Think Arnold Schwarzenegger, but bigger!"

It was almost time for us to head out. I called for the land team to assemble at the jeeps as Ellis slammed the hood shut on the last of them, wiping his hands clean with a rag, "That should do 'er!" he smiled.

Bill checked his M-16 and said, "Okay, chief," to me as Caroline was there as well. Rochelle and Francis were among the last of them as the Pigeon was made ready.

"We'll head out with Ellis and Allisyn leading the way," handing him the map.

The mechanic smiled, "Hooweee! That means we get all Dukes of Hazzards on dem zombies"

"Just be careful in your driving," I warmed him, "We'll go with our lights off. Don't want the headlights giving us away. Remember, we cross the bridge, reach and secure the docks for the Pigeon and get the pumps going and hold the area and send the parties out for the supplies. If the worse thing happens, say the docks get overrun, then we all board the Pigeon and head back here."

"And if we can't get to the docks?" Francis asked.

"Then we abort the mission and return here and try another way" I said. "Everyone is going to have Molotov cocktails and propane tanks onboard to deal with any hordes or special infected. Stick together and keep in radio contact at all times"

"Aye aye, sir" Bill saluted.

Kate gasped as she heard Jackson explain about the mutated zombies. "We haven't had anything like that, well, not yet anyway," she said, looking back down at the radar. His explanation of the Tank was horrid, not to mention the thought of the others.

Louis swung his katana over his shoulder, ready for the fight ahead. Everyone was ready for this battle. It was of dire need. The fuel was needed to get to the Caribbean later down the road. "Let's get this party started," the black man shouted as he jumped into one of the jeeps with Ellis.

Ellis kissed Allisyn one last time before he jumped into the jeep to drive. He wanted to see her again. Hopefully if this mission went well, he would spend another night like last night with her.

Bill kissed Caroline deeply before he climbed into the jeep. He was feeling like a soldier going off to war again as he looked to her. She walked over to her daughter who wasn't flinching as bad when she was close anymore. Caroline put her arm around Allisyn as they watched the convoy head off.

Nick was looking at the map and handed it over to Bill. "Keep an eye out, but also guide me where we need to go."

Bill shook his head, "I think we can just follow those two." He pointed at the jeep ahead of them, that had Rochelle and Francis in it. Francis was driving and Rochelle was on top with the mounted gun.

"You better not cheat and start killing before me!" Francis yelled up to her.

Rochelle laughed and tapped his back with her foot, "Oh I won't. Trust me!"

I was with Robert as we were following up with the fourth final jeep. I picked up the radio and announced, "Keep the radio on channel one, same as with the Pigeon. We'll stay in contact that way. Ellis and Louis, go to the Strand at this turn. Finish your part there and return to the station to await us. Good luck guys."

Ellis smiled as he heard that, "We'll do our best, miss!" He turned the jeep and they went on their way.

I looked to Robert and kissed him, "Let's make this. We can do this." We continued our way on the freeway, hoping to meet up with the Pigeon around the same time. We were coming up on the Sporting Goods store. We'd get supplies there and then continue on our way to the Texas City Refinery.

With our convoy underway, the Pigeon roared to life. The screws began to spin and pushed the old ship out of the harbor. Jackson didn't use the bell or the horn so it would not betray their progress, and they were running dark, no lights on deck. It would be difficult being in a harbor he was unfamiliar with, but he was using NVGs that we took in Florida that would help, though they didn't give depth perception. Kate was right along side him giving gentle orders on correcting their bearings as they slipped out of the dock and began the long ride about to the refinery. On deck, those sailors not in the engine room or on the bridge had their weapons at the ready but standing a ways away from the rails out of fear a Smoker might be hiding underneath the surface and lasso them with their long tongues.

"Let's do this" I said to Zoey as we pulled up in front of the Sporting Goods store. Weapon tight in hand we dismounted, leaving the vehicles in front with the engines pointing out so we can make a fast get away and load any supplies into the back. The front door was smashed in and there were some boxes scattered in front. Someone beat us to it, but stepping inside there was more than we could have hoped for. "Yes!" I smiled. "Leave some people to guard the front" I said to Zoey, "The rest of us will secure the store and begin moving this stuff." There was ammunition, mostly full metal jacket for hunting, crossbows, bolts, rain jackets, ponchos, dried food, and better still were medical supplies in the form of First Aid kits, plus new shoes. "Food, medical supplies, ammunition, then camping stuff" I said to them counting off on the fingers of my left hand after we swept the entire store. Who ever raided this place didn't do a good job, there were tons of stuff left, but that meant more for us. I came by and slapped Zoey playfully on her bubble butt showing my new bound enthusiasm.

"This is where the bottom is shallow" Kate warned Jackson as she read the instrument panel, "I got five fathoms" as they were making their turn, "And we got a 3 knot current heading south-west" The Pigeon was making its way slowly, fighting the water, the screws spinning faster as Jackson gently applied throttle and pointed the bow north away from the island tip. Gritting his teeth he kept his eyes straight ahead listening as Kate called it off as she saw it. No sign of the infected yet.

Everything was quiet as we made our way into the sporting goods store. It was too quiet. "Everyone, keep alert," I announced as I started carrying boxes of stuff out to the jeeps. Francis was keeping guard of the front with Rochelle as we continued to raid the store.

"Whatever smashed that door down stopped people from stealing stuff," Rochelle said as she looked to Francis.
He nodded looking to her, "Yeah, that's just what I was thinking."

The idea of something so large taking down everyone and anyone that tried to steal stuff was a scary thought. I continued to check the guns and fill backpacks with ammo. "I believe we can get on our way from here," I said as I grabbed the last box of ammo. Bill was looking around as he found his way to the machetes and throwing knives.

"I think Louis will like these. Will be good to have a sharp blade expert on our team," the old man huffed as he lit another cigarette then picked up the stuff to carry in a backpack.

Nick was carrying food along as he packed it into the back of one jeep. "This one is full. Let's fill up the other one before a horde comes along."

Kate was standing next to Jackson as she continued to guide him and the sailors through the bay. Everything was going okay. No sign of infected along the shore. Perhaps this would be a quick run. "So they're mutating?" she questioned him. He nodded as she continued to guide him. "Turn more right here, we're going to angle north around 25 degrees, another low spot."

"Yes, they're mutating" Jackson nodded as he turned the helm to starboard 25 degrees, "We've seen what we call 'special infected' those not like the regular zombie. There is a big one, we call the Tank, then there's another with a long tongue that wraps people up and drags them away. We call that one a Smoker. Then there's a big ugly fat fucker we call the Boomer. You shoot it and it erupts spewing bile on everyone. For some reason it attracts the zombies, like honey to an ant."

"Hustle it up" I whispered to the others as they filled their arms with everything they could get. I saw Zoey with the machettes, those would be useful tools if and when our firearms jammed, but I feared getting close enough to a tank to be able to swing one of those things.

"No grenades" Bill fumed, "Damn nation. We need to make frag grenades" as he came back in and cleared off the last rack of clean socks. "We need things with a bigger bang"

"You mean something like this, old man!" Francis came in having found something nifty right outside of the store covered in some debris. It was an M203 grenade launcher.

"Hell's Bells" Bill smiled, "Now that's what I'm talking about" as he held it in his hands.

Bill was overly happy with the grenade launcher as he looked to the rest of the group. "Let's go kick some ass," he said as he looked to him. Francis laughed as he climbed into the jeep.

"Seems that we're ready! Let's get it going ladies!" the buff biker said as he turned on the Jeep.

"Jackson, Kate. We'll be heading your way now. We'll be at the refinery in 30 minutes," I said over the radio as I jumped into the jeep with Robert. Everything was going as planned. We had found everything we needed for a while. Enough ammo and supplies, weapons and more. "Let's get this convoy going!" I shouted to everyone else.

"Over and out, Zoey," Katelyn said as she put down the radio. She looked to Jackson and smiled. "It seems they got a bunch of stuff to help. We'll be pulling into the refinery around the same time as they will be." She looked down as she thought about the mutations. "I just hope there isn't as many of those that you say there are."

"Ahh chachachacha!!" Louis screamed out as he sliced the head off a zombie walking down Strand Avenue. "You find what you're looking for, Ellis?" the man asked the country guy. Ellis was smiling as he replied.

"Sure 'nuff! I found plenty and there is more coffee stores over here. Let's finish up and go back over to the station to wait for the others," he said as he took a fire axe to a door to open it.

"Careful, man" Louis warned, "You might summon a horde."

"I'm trying" Ellis replied as he ripped the ax from the metal door and tried again with a heavy bang.

We took a right turn and had to weave around several disabled vehicles in our way and our speed was cut. With our headlights out it made it quite difficult with the darkened street, but we kept going. Gripping the steering wheel tight, I gritted my teeth in turning the wheel and getting through the maze without damaging the vehicle.

"We're getting close" Bill replied as he placed the M203 across his lap. It used the same ammunition as his M-16 but what was needed was a 40mm grenade for the under launcher. His head continued to crane about watching the rooftops. "Watch them roof tops" he warned Caroline. "Those damn Hunters are up there. I can smell them"

"What's a Hunter?" Kate asked.

"They pounce on people. They're like little cats. They watch and wait till they see a good chance and then they jump on you and they'll start ripping you apart with their long talons" Jackson explained. He went through all of the special infected, such creatures would send a cold chill up anyone's spine.

As they rounded the island and the dock presented itself Jackson couldn't just open the throttle and ride it in, they had to be slow to allow our party to get their first and clear out any infected. "Boss, what's your status?" he asked.

"We're ten blocks away" I replied through the radio, "We're weaving through disabled vehicles."

Caroline looked about. She knew that hunters were pretty tough to get away from. She had seen some when she and Allisyn were running around before they had been rescued back in Florida. "I know them all too well," she said looking to him.

I was sitting next to Robert as he was maneuvering through the streets. It wasn't too far before I heard this loud coughing noise. "Oh fuck. A smoker." I was getting scared. One of those fuckers could hook onto anything and just take it for their own, mostly survivors.

Francis motioned for Rochelle to scan the horizon having heard the noise as well. Rochelle looked through the sniper rifle scope as she scanned the horizon. "Over there!" She said as she moved to duck down so she wouldn't be pulled out.

I jumped up and looked through my hunter rifle to take aim, but the Smoker shot out his tongue to take hold of the steering wheel, breaking through the glass taking the control of it. "Fuck!" I screamed out pulling out one of the machetes and taking a few whacks at it.

Rochelle stood back up after seeing what was going on and took aim at the Smoker on the rooftop. She pulled the trigger and the fucker exploded into smoke. "Fuck yeah!" she screamed out before we heard another familiar noise. "Not one of those.. no," she said quieter.

"Just let's get moving. Ignore it!" I said over the radio to the rest of them. I took aim looking for the Spitter who was giving off it's familiar screech. And this mission was only getting started.

***********************

"Yes! I got what we needed, let's get back to the Coast Guard Station," Ellis said carrying some bikini tops and daisy dukes.

"What in the hell was this mission for? For you to get stuff for your girlfriend?" Louis said shaking his head.

"Yeah, so? I got you something too.." Ellis said throwing him a shirt that said 'I'm a better Samurai than you'

"Okay, all is forgiven.." Louis said pulling on the shirt over his white shirt and tie.

There was a intense hocking of phlegm then a spray of bright yellow that splashed against the side of our jeep. "Damn!" I yelled stomping on the accelerator. "Damn spitter to the right!" calling through the radio.

"I see her!" Francis called out as he lurched forward. The Spitter ran out on the street as if to chase Zoey and I and didn't see the biker close on our heels. The Spitter, with its jaw dangling lower than its chest, turned about in time to see Francis' glowing smile as the engine block slammed into the creatures' chest knocking it down with enough force that her head slammed against the asphalt and splattered open killing it.

"That's one!" Francis smiled thrust a middle finger into the air.

"Captain to Pigeon, what's your status?" I called on the radio.

"This is Jackson, we're nearing the dock. Ten minutes out" still as the helm as Kate surveyed the dock with a set of high powered binoculars.

"Understood. We're less than five minutes away from the docks" I said as the road finally opened for us and I punched the gas. There was a gate up ahead and it was locked with a heavy duty chain. "Hang on" I called out, "This is going to be loud"

RRRRRRRR POP!

The gate flung open with a terrific snap as the metal came apart. The Jeep jostled about, but we continued moving forward. "I can't believe that worked" I replied in relief.

"Yeah it worked, but in the wrong way," I said looking to him. The distant roar of a horde began to echo through the air as we drove to the base. "Pigeon, come in Pigeon.." I said over the radio. "You're going to have to stay back until we clear the area. Captain here made noise so a horde is imminent. We'll radio back as soon as it's clear."

"Aye-aye," Kate said over the radio in response. "Pull it to a halt for now. We'll stay back and watch." Her ample bosom pressed against Jackson's back as she pulled up the binoculars. She was keeping watch from that distance. "Damn, such a flow of them. I haven't seen that many since it first started."

"We're back!" Ellis announced as he moved his way into the base. Allisyn's squeal was echoing throughout the station as she saw him coming through the front door. He caught her as she jumped at him.
"I thought you'd be gone," she said as she looked to him. She held up the radio. "The convoy...they've run into special infected already." Ellis looked to Louis who pulled his samurai sword out and held up a gun.
"I'm ready if you are, country boy," the tall black man said.
Ellis looked to Allisyn as she kissed him squarely on the lips, darting her tongue in. She pulled back, "Go save them." He looked to Louis, "Let's go kill some sons o' bitches!"

"Yeah! Bulls-eye!" Rochelle said as she pulled out the gun and shot several of the zombies in the head. The horde was larger than usual and pushing against the jeeps as they tried to push through. "Fuck! Boomer!" she shouted.

"I got it!" I said as I poked my head out through the top of the jeep, taking aim at the bloated zombie. "There's more coming, Robert! We've got to hop out of the jeep and start chopping them down!"

"Take the shot!" Bill called out when seeing the zombie. Pulling the trigger the fat one exploded flinging bits of rotten flesh and bile into the air and began raining down on us.

"Watch yourselves" the old man replied pushing Caroline away from the jeeps.

"Damn!" I said, didn't think that it would make that much of noise, "Dismount!" I ordered and went for the cocktails. "Find some high ground!"

"Up there!" Francis pointed to the top of a conex trailer, "Get on top of that"

Rochelle dismounted the jeep tracking the machine gun with her cradled in her arms. "Move it, ladies!" Francis bellowed. Zoey and I laid down fire as the zombies began scaling over the jeeps. We needed those things to get back so our shots were accurate, popping their chest and lungs when they became visible.

"Cover me" I called out, taking a lighter and igniting the wick of a cocktail then heaving it over hand. The flame flicked as it cartwheeled through the air then crashed like a meteorite onto the asphalt igniting brilliantly and engulfing several infected.

"You see that?" Louis said, pointing down the road.

"Yeah" Ellis nodded, "Something's burnin'"

Then tracer rounds arched overhead, "Looks like a horde" the black man gasped.

"Terrific!" Ellis smiled, "Let's get in there then"

I turned to see a boomer in our sight but I couldn't pull the sight up on my gun soon enough before it barfed over me and Francis. "Oh fuck!" I screamed out. The boomer barf was only then ignited when I tried to throw a Molotov and the Boomer exploded before us, it's guts going everywhere. Francis was freaking out as his vest caught fire, to which he quickly took it off and started stomping on it to put out the flames. Forget the zombies, his vest took priority.

"No...no no no! No mother fucker!" Francis said as he held up his vest. His eyes were watering. "It was the only thing I ever loved!!" This exclamation from him made Rochelle turn her gaze at him, rolling her eyes as she looked to him. He straightened up and pulled up his rifle. "Oh fuckers! You're gonna get it now!" he screamed out as he started to spray the zombies with numerous bullets.

"Fuck! They're in full combat," Ellis said as they turned the corner and saw the zombies coming full fledged at them. He pulled out a pipe bomb and threw it to the corner as the other zombies started heading towards it. Ellis and Louis ran past the horde circling the beeping explosive device.

We all ducked as we heard the explosion coming from behind, body parts and blood spewing from the blast site. "Oh fuck! Woohoo!" Louis said as he stood up.

"I told you guys to stay at the station!" I shouted at them.
"But we had to come, we didn't have any action so fuck that...We wanted to help," Louis said.
"Yeah, miss. We just had to come help," Ellis said straightening his hat on his head.

Bill helped Caroline up as he turned to look at the dock. He picked up the radio and set the speaker. "Pigeon, bring 'er on in. It's clear...for now.."

Kate turned her head to hear the radio and picked it up, "Alright we're bringing it in." She turned again to look at Jackson with a smile. "Seems we're wanted.."

"All ahead half full" Jackson smiled as he turned the wheel and the screw spun. The Pigeon slowly glided across the calm black water leaving behind long silver streaks in its wake as it headed towards the dock.

"Secure the area" I said, "Ellis, Louis, glad to have you back. You two climb to the top of that crane and keep a look out for a horde. Take some extra Molotovs and pipe bombs"

"Yes, sir!" Ellis smiled as they hustled off.

When the old ship was entering the dock and came to a halt as the lines were cast to secure her in place only then did I sigh in relief. Now came the hard and long part of this. Looking at Zoey she was covered in boomer bile. I wanted to hug her but knew I had to stay back or else it would get all over me. "You look good in that color" I joshed with her.

"These things are fuckin' disgusting" Caroline curled her lips as she climbed down from the conex trailer and stepped over the mutilated bodies. When one twitched she brought the stock of her weapon down and cracked its skull open till the brain rolled out.

"My baby" Francis sobbed.

"You're really crying over a vest?" Rochelle came to him as the heavy biker held onto the charred remains of his beloved vest. "What's so important about that vest?"

"You don't understand" Francis began, "My father gave me this vest. We were hog riders. Went all over the country getting in bar fights, eluding pigs, and tearing shit up everywhere we went. He gave it to me after he got it from his father. It's family. Before he died when I was 15 he gave it to me on his hospital bed and said, "Now you get to be a man, and real men wear vests. This was all I had left of his memory."

"Oh" Rochelle gasped, "I-I'm sorry" gently placing a hand on his shoulder.

Sailors went to the fuel tanks and dragged the hoses to the Pigeon and using pulleys and lines were able to connect them to the ship. We realized though, once they turned on the switch we might alarm another horde.

I looked to Robert, "Oh ha ha, very funny." I was trying my hardest to wipe off what I could. The fact that the boomer bile was sticking was new. Maybe it had been an older boomer -- one around since the beginning. If that was true, then they weren't really seen as much here.

"We need to move forward. That tanker is going to make a lot of noise!" Bill said as he moved forward, Caroline at his side. He was guarding her like a brand new pack of cigarettes.

"I can take care of myself," Caroline said as she moved ahead of Bill. That's when she smiled. "What if we were to get married one day, what the hell is your last name?" She looked to him with curiosity in her eyes.

"Overbeck... My last name is Overbeck," he said as a smirk grew on his face. "What's with this marriage?" She shrugged which made him spank her ass. "I like it, sexy woman."

Kate moved to the deck as she guided Jackson into the dock. "We're here!" she shouted. "Let's start it!!" She helped the sailors grab the hose from the dock to hook it up to the ship.

Ellis nodded in Robert's direction before running ahead to secure the tower with the fuel pump. "Seems like it's safe here.. Should we get started?"

Louis smiled and looked around, swinging his katana over his shoulder. "Oh hell yes! Let's get it going!"

I nodded and checked my ammo in my guns. "Yes, kick it on!" I said pointing to it.

Ellis shouted a warrior cry and turned it on. Now it was starting...

Apprehensive at first, Bill looked about. Right around here is when the bad stuff happens. From their lookout Louis and Ellis could see all around. The area was aglow from the hundreds of fires ragging out of control. It was amazing that they still had fuel.

There was nothing for the first couple of minutes, the pumps churned the fuel in the tanks and sent them into the Pigeon's bunkers. Looking at the gauges as they slowly crawled upwards, Jackson sent me a message via the radio, "We're getting fuel"

Then came the howling.

"Oh, this is going to get bad" Bill said as he flipped the safety off of his rifle.

"Look over there!" Louis pointed to the North-west. Through a tight maze of back alleys came something moving. Something big. I couldn't see them. None of us on the ground could. Louis began waving his arms above his head to get our attention and pointed towards the threat.

"What do you see, kid?" Bill called up.

"Something big!" Louis cried, "Looks like a horde!" Then a fire was kindled and Ellis hurled a Molotov from the tower and we all watched it as it sailed towards a small gap in a chain linked perimeter fence. It billowed up in a great sheet of flame then came the horde, running through it with great abandon, many catching on fire as they ran through the flames and began to flail about.

"Here they come" I said taking a knee and firing steadily.

"Right on time" Francis said as he shoved his arms through the burnt tatters of his vest. With his auto shotgun in hand he let the first of the horde get less than twenty yards then sprayed them with 00 buckshot and watched with glee as their bodies were torn apart.

I looked through the sights as I heard Louis announce that they were seeing the horde approaching. All my ammo was secure and I was ready for a fire-fight. I looked ahead and noticed that several of them were now on fire from the Molotov. I took aim and took head-shots on the ones that were not aflame. I continued firing my gun until I noticed it was nearly out of ammo. I reloaded and took aim again.

Kate looked at the dials and gauges, placing her hand on Jackson's shoulder. "I think this will be easy. Most of the specials came earlier.."

Bill took aim and threw a homemade explosive towards the crowd, numerous infected surrounding it. He grabbed Caroline and ducked, blood and limbs flying everywhere. Caroline took his cigarette out of his mouth and took a puff. "Thanks, needed that.." she replaced it in his mouth, his lips agape as he looked to her.

"Come on, old man! Focus!" Francis said as he whacked a few infected from above them, causing Bill to stand and take aim with his pistols.

"Woo hoo! It's fucking on!" Ellis said taking shots from the perch that he and Louis had. The infected that he shot exploded with the ammo he had.

Then came a bull roar and everyone looked. "Charger!!" Rochelle screamed out as she looked to it. She took aim and started to take him down but was knocked to the ground. "It's fucking got me!" she screamed.

Francis turned around and looked to her. "Not today! Not her!" he screamed out as he picked up an ax to whack it upside the head, knocking it off of her. He held out his hand to help her up. "Don't worry, I'm not going to lose you."

Nick looked around and noticed that there was a spitter and a smoker on the rooftop. "Incoming!" he said taking aim before having to dodge out of the way of the burning acid.

"I got her!" Louis said as he fired several bursts at the Spitter who leapt away into the darkness. Damn it. I missed" growling, but the Smoker revealed himself just a few feet away from that and he fired, again he missed. He spat out his long tongue and found its mark wrapped up around one of my sailors and began pulling him towards the flames and the infected.

"Oh hell no!" Francis roared. Brandishing his fire ax he ran after the helpless sailor and slammed the wedge down with fury, cutting off the tongue and pulling the man to his feet. The Smoker wrangled in his flacid tongue.

"Now I got you" Louis smirked as he put several shots right in center mass and sent the infected one back to Hell in a puff of smoke.

"Whoa!" Francis smiled, "Nice shot!"

"Hey! What's that down there?" Ellis called out pointing to something moving around to the right of the flames. It was an infected, but it was wearing a belt and on that belt was a Molotov and a bomb a pack on his back.

"Is it infected?" Louis called.

"Yeah"

"Then shoot it!"

I saw it as well. It moved like the infected, but when our eyes connected, it tried to turn and run away. Ellis fired a stream of rounds that pattered all about it, but he missed and the thing slinked away.

"Jackson, how's the progress?"I called to him.

"About a quarter of the way" he replied.

I saw the Infected before my eyes and realized that the Molotov and the bomb were connected to its chest. "Don't shoot it!" I shouted. "It could explode!" I was frightened that it could explode and cause more noise to be made.

Louis was getting pissed that he was missing so much. "Fuck fuck fuck!" he said as he shouted. His aim was getting worse. He took aim at another Infected only to see it flying off. "What the--- Oh fuck, TANK!!!" he screamed as he lit a Molotov to throw in it's direction. The Tank only knocked it back in our direction, lighting the horde before us.

"Son of a bitch!" Ellis said as he lit another one to throw it, this time the fire making contact with the massive Infected.

"Yeah! Focus on it! Hurry!" Bill screamed as he turned to load his newly acquired grenade launcher. He took aim and fired at it, following bullets behind.

"That's...that's a Tank?" Katelyn asked Jackson. "Oh holy----"

"Shit! It's not stopping!" Francis said as he shouted out, spraying the infected in front of him with a barrage of bullets.

All of the weapons focused on the Tank. We squeezed the triggers thinking that the harder we squeezed the harder the bullets would it. Alight and charging like a train, the Tank knocked aside everyone and everything in its path. It reached the barricade of jeeps and blew through them, hefting one into the air.

"Watch it!" Bill cried as he leaped to the right, dropping an empty magazine and pulling out another. The jeep came crashing down beside him and skidded into the docking waters before the Pigeon.

"There's no stopping this thing" Kate gasped.

"Keep hitting him!" Francis called out as he unloaded ten shots into the Tank's back, but when the thing dug his fingers into the concrete and pulled out a chunk bigger than its body and hurled it up at the crane where Louis and Ellis where, the two jumped for it and landed on a couple of conex trailers.

"Shit!" Francis said as the Tank went running for them, carrying itself like a gorilla using its large knuckles to push it along. Ellis landed hard on the trailer, his weapon knocked from his grasp. The Tank came running for him.

"Oh god!" he cried trying to crawl for his rifle.

"Hang on!" Francis came dropping his shotgun and picking up Louis's katana and slicing the Tank's back left and right leaving large gashes that ooozed a sick green blood.

The Tank wasn't going down. Ellis was being hit into the ground and Francis was trying his hardest to get the Tank to focus on him. "Come on you fucker!" he said as he sliced again into the rampaging Infected's back. The infected reached back and slung his arm around knocking Francis back. "Aahh!!" he screamed as he hit against the tower.

I took aim at the fucking Tank, shooting everything I had into the body of the monstrous giant. Nothing was breaking through. "Kill the bastard!" I knew if we didn't kill the infected, Allisyn would never forgive us for what happens to Ellis.

Bill pulled up the grenade launcher and aimed at the Tank's head. "Eat lead, punk!!" He screamed as he fired. The Tank looked up just before it collided with its head, blowing its head off into smithereens. The massive infected's body staggered backwards before it collapsed on the ground.

Ellis' face was bloody as Louis jumped down from the tower, running to his side. "Don't die on me, Ellis," he said as he bent down to try and pick him up. Numerous infected were coming as the fuel pumps kept running.

I ran over to the scene and looked to Ellis. "Are you okay?" I said helping him get up.

Ellis grabbed his arm as he let out a yelp. "Ahh, just my arm, miss.. I'm fine.." It looked crushed from the sight of it. That's when Francis arrived picking up his shotgun again, "More of them coming!" he said, gripping his side.

"That damn thing is strong," Kate said to Jackson as she looked towards the survivors with her eyes wide. "I hope there's not another one of those.."

"On your feet!" Louis said, "We'll get you onboard the ship"

"No!" Ellis cried, "I'm not going to leave you guys to fight this alone!"

"Get on the ship!" we all told him.

The infected came running, they never tired, never faultered and we gunned them down. A thick spray of dried blood, bones, and brains filled the air as they ran into our meat grinder, but they just climbed over the bodies of the fallen like they didn't care. It reminded me of the Soviets in World War II, just human wave upon human wave where millions of pointless casualties piled up.

A gangplank was put out to allow Ellis to get onboard and was quickly withdrawn to prevent any infected from getting onboard the Pigeon.

Our fire swept the area. Zoey and I stood side by side and dispatched at least thirty in less than a minute. The barrels of our weapons glowed red as the hot brass littered our feet. Our blood was pumping. We could hold out just a little longer. Francis and Bill unloaded on a group near the pumps and fuel lines.
"Watch your fire" Bill said, "They're around the pumps"

"I know, old man" Francis growled.

"You set off the pumps on our way to the hospital" Bill retorted, "Don't make that same mistake again."

"Yeah" Francis smiled, "That was pretty cool."

One of the infected darted out of the shadows came barreling at me from behind, I swung with my rifle and clocked it in the jaw knocking it down and followed it up with a powerful boot to the face and smashed its forehead like a grape. Nasty. "Jackson, how far along are we?" I asked into the radio.

"We're about half way, captain" Jackson replied.

"I think that's all of them" Louis called out as the other sailors called out clear sectors. All around us were the horrid, twitching bodies. There appeared to be a lull. The pumps weren't done.

"We need ammo" I said, "Everyone, top off your weapons. Get some cans down here!" I called out to the Pigeon. Several sailors came running down the gangplank, their arms full of green ammo cans that they placed on the ground and opened.

I stood next to Robert as the blood and limbs from the infected kept flying. God, everyone was going to need a shower after this. Everything seemed to be calming down for the most part when he order for the ammo. The sailors brought the ammo tins and everyone set about to refilling their various weapons. I looked up as I finished loading my guns and saw a Boomer waddling his way down the road at us. I raised my trusty sniper rifle. I pulled the trigger and it exploded while it was still far away. "Nailed it!" I said excitedly as I continued to help pass ammo around.

"I hate being useless," Ellis exclaimed as Kate started to take a look at his arm. It was mangled in such a way she wasn't sure if he could even move it. "Ah fuck! That hurts!" he said as she tried moving it around to be able to put it in a splint.

Katelyn smiled as she looked to him. "I've got to put it in the splint or you'll never be able to fire a gun again.." She wrapped the gauze around the supports as she tightened it, Ellis squirming as she did so. His hat was turned around still since the incident. She looked up and turned it around so it was back to normal. "There ya go, good as new. Relay to the captain that Ellis' arm is patched up for now," she told Jackson after she finished.

A distant roar was heard and everyone looked up to see what was making the commotion. "Aw, no break.." Louis said as he stood up slinging the katana over his shoulder. He pulled up his assault rifle and looked in the direction of the roar.

Numerous infected were making their way towards us as the pumps kept working. I looked over at Francis and Bill. "Let's kick some ass. What do you say guys?"

Francis' face lit up with a smirk as he cocked his shotgun. "Heh, let's kick some ass!"

Bill stood up and loaded his new toy with another grenade. "Yeah, this bad boy is wanting to get some more work in. Let's give it to them!" Francis heard Bill's words and let out a loud laugh, cackling if you will.

Nick looked to Rochelle, "What do you see in him?" The man in the now blood stained cream-colored suit looked to his friend as she smiled back to him before looking towards Francis.

"Hey, he's wild and crazy, not to mention he's one helluva monster in bed.." the woman said before she took aim at the infected heading their way.

"Ohh yeah baby!" Francis exclaimed as he heard what she said before taking shots at the infected which made them collapse and slide against the pavement.

"Let's do this!" I said rising up with a cooled down and loaded rifle. We formed a firing line and began unloading into the midst of the enemy, splattering them just as they entered through the perimeter fence. "They just don't learn, do they?" I shouted above the din. On the radio I heard from Jackson that Kate patched Ellis' arm in a splint. I replied, "Good. How much longer till we're done?"

"Three quarters of the way!" Jackson eagerly replied.

This was taking too long. Off to the right I noticed something moving on the rooftops and squinted to see from the flickering flames all about that there was something moving on its hands and feet. Not sure what it was I lifted up my rifle and took several shots, the thing screeched and jumped away. "Shit. We got a Hunter"

"Where?" Bill asked.

Pointing over to the now empty roof top the soldier squinted and drew a long drag on his smoke. "He'll be back"

The wall of fire we were putting up was cutting them down like a sythe to grass. The ground we stood was now littered with spent shell casings. "Stay together!" Francis shouted as he unloaded his last round and shoved more shells into his shotgun.

To the left again there was a stir and Bill caught it. "There you are, fucker" he smirked. The Hunter crouched down and sprung itself forward with a powerful leap, arms outstretched as it sliced through the air. Bill quickly jerked the muzzle of his weapon towards it and fired the grenade launcher. The high explosive warhead found its mark right in the Hunters chest where it exploded in a midst of black smoke and flesh that now began raining down upon us.

"Thanks, Bill" I said to him as chunks of rotten flesh landed on my shoulders.

"Everything seems to be going just fine now," Kate said as she stood next to Jackson. The red flames were destroying the infected left and right, right before their eyes. She continued to look on and looked at the fuel gauges. "Shouldn't be much longer now," she said over the radio as she glanced back at the shore.

"Let's hurry it up!" I hollered out as I reloaded my gun, placing a new magazine and popping the chamber before firing the pistol right at a charging infected. Everything was going smoothly until I heard a loud cackling noise. I turned around and saw the small infected about to pounce Francis. "Francis!!!" I screamed trying to take aim but several infected were starting to surround me.

Francis turned to see what Zoey was hollering about but just as soon as he did, a Jockey jumped on him. "Aw shit! Get it off! Get it the fuck off of me!" He was being taken by the Jockey to the other side of area, toward a wall of flames caused by Molotovs.

Rochelle turned around and took aim at the little fucker, "Oh my god! It's riding him!" She pulled the trigger and shot the infected dead. She ran up to Francis and picked him up, "Are you okay?"

He turned around with a smile and a laugh. "Oh, on the first day of Christmas, a Jockey gave to me --- One STD!!" He looked to her only to be ignored. "Hey, that's funny," he said as he followed her back to the main area.

Rochelle turned her head and looked to him. "Oh I think he gave you more than that to the back of the head," she said pulling at his hair showing the green ooze stuck, which made him freak out.

"Are you two done making out?! We have a situation here!" Bill said as he pointed in the direction of a Charger. The charging infected ran in front of everyone but made no contact. The only contact it made was with a wall, which everyone focused their fire on it and destroyed it on the spot.

"Looks like the tanks are almost empty on this end!" Louis said looking at the fuel gauge on the shore's end. "We're almost done."

That's when there was a familiar roar from the other end of the dock. Everyone looked and saw another Tank filing in, knocking back infected, sending them flying. I looked to Robert. "We've got to go.. We can't handle another one of those!" I spun around and sent a Molotov at it, to which it knocked it back. "Damn, are these things learning?" I thought to myself.
