Leaving comments for commenters

When some nice folk leave a comment on my stories I do like to be able to reply, but there's no reason they'd ever return to read what I said.

Would it be possible to have a multi-thread comment option, where folk could reply to one another, combined with the option to get alerts if a reply is left?

Assumes non-anonymous, of course, but then if this functionality was there we may see more comments and less anonymity.

You can leave a reply and A: They might, they have for me, even Anons. B: It could answer a question for the next reader.

Or, for non-anon commenters, you could either PM them or use the Contact link, which sends an email.

I’d love this feature. I respond to anyone who takes the time to comment, even anonymous users. Would be good to have threading.

Lit is well known for heeding the voice of authors. Hang in there, it will be done in no time
