Leather and water? Long term use of cock strap?

Hello everyone!

I have a question about leather cock straps. I just bough the leather Gates of Hell with four straps - see here. I love it, but I'm not sure about two things.

Firstly, how safe would it be for long term wear? It does tend to squish my balls a bit, is that likely to cause any damage?

Another question - if I were to wear it in the shower, or in the pool, would the leather rot or anything? Or can I just dry it really thoroughly afterwards?

Thanks for your help!

Leather WILL rot or become brittle if exposed to water (repeated periods of wet and dry) for long periods of time as it is a natural fiber (skin). It's best to take it off and clean it and let it dry periodically as with any garment as the natural oils from your own body will also cause it to deteriorate over a period of time.

Thank you both for the advice!
I think I'll keep it very dry then - and I'll see about getting some leather treatment stuff for it too.

I'm also interested in hearing how safe they are to wear for long periods of time. Are they just for an hour or two, or can i wear them for several hours without doing any damage down there? It can't be good to have my nuts squished up and out like that, can it?

Thanks for the help!

I called a local sex store and asked them. The clerk says "no more than two hours because thats when vascular degeneration starts. Sperm production may also be inhibited, but if he gets gangrene or something, his little swimmers are going to be the least of his worries." Basically, vascular degeneration means that the ability to exchange oxygen through the walls of the vessels/veins is compromised. No oxygen exchange, and the cells start to die.
