For a long time I found Lit a site with severe shortcomings, but I am learning now to get along with it. Maybe someday I will even begin to like it. Like many of the stories posted on Lit.

The Personals forum is really bad nowadays. Quite some time ago, I met several women via it, but my sense is, it has gone to the dogs, more or less completely. . Ever since a certain person in Washington had set out to corrupt public discourse on any subject, IMHO.

Most women flocking to the Personals are braggards, plain and simple, trying to show off their good looks, their extraordinary sexuality, their supposedly alluring personality. With reality often deviating by a mile from what is being advertised.
Many of the women being illiterate, some of them to the extreme. But all apparently clinging to the notion that a woman on Lit can get away with anything.

I very much doubt I will ever again run into a woman on the Personals, with nearly as much substance as some women I met there already, long long time ago.

Some men are no better: their bragging happens by inventing female partners with admirable qualities. And the worst are the “picture show-offs”. Of truly arousing females very often, but women having nothing to do whatsoever with the shower-offer. As if a man wins sexual attractiveness thru his ability to pick pix off the internet.

And what do displayed images of arousing femininity do for anybody, I ask myself. Help me masturbate better, maybe, but that’s about all. My longing to fondle and finger and stroke and gift tenderness to a female body is only increasing this way.

Fortunately there are other forums on Lit much more rewarding. This one, for instance. Because now and then a discussion ensues here, on an interesting subject. “making your wife more attractive to other men” is only one example. Because every now and then, somebody joins such a discussion, who is honest, and not politically correct like that seems to be the norm on the Personals.

Because once one violates arbitrary norms on the Personals, one can get ostracized very easily. All for speaking up honestly, a crying shame, if you ask me. I recall reading a former motto of Lit somewhere, having to do with free speech. A far cry from today’s reality.

So I believe I shall try finding interesting discussions here, or on The Playground, or wherever else. Maybe even on the Politics board, even though derogatory talk seems the norm there mostly. Many brain-dead people flocking there, who have been captured by what FOX “Propaganda” touts loud and clear and calls it news.

I am glad also that I’ve been able to write some anger and disappointment off my chest just now; I feel better already!

Wow buddy, if it's not fun for you why come back? Lit should be a fun distraction. If it causes you so much angst find something else fun to do with your free time.

And meeting women off of the internet is always going to be very hit or miss. Go out in real life and meet some, it's more fun that way than waiting for an email back from someone you never met in person especially when that email is often never going to come.

two amazing non-responses I received from two illiterates today

Neither you, neakman, nor you Nurseguy, are able to read, much less able to understand the words of a stranger. But that does not keep you two from writing comments based on your lack of understanding.

Typical of today's Lit, I’d say, not understanding a word but still feeling compelled to comment. Just like the guy in the WH demonstrating it daily to all the world to see.

I wrote plainly and fairly clearly in my post, how the Lit Personals forum had gone down the drain, over the course of the last 3 years, due to people like you, among other reasons. And then I wrote that I am done with the Personals, for that reason. And that I shall do something else I find more rewarding.

Now what is there about my words, which two people with brains in their heads, supposedly, cannot understand? You may not agree with me, OK, no problem. But that does not give two know-nothings like you a license to mock me, does it? Or to dispense shitty advice you cannot possibly know, how applicable it might be.

You two are probably not smart enough to realize it, but your kind of behavior is the root cause for Lit becoming ever more a cesspool, moving away from a place for literate people years ago.

What I don't understand is why you choose to dedicate so much energy to negativity. Instead of joining in and trying to make better this community that you are so terribly disappointing in, almost all of your posts are 90% rambling griping and casting blame, and then surprise that people respond to that? Congratulations man, people are reading your posts and hearing what you are saying, isn't that what you want? You're wrong about everyone not being able to read or understand you - we understand you perfectly, we just think that you're a bit silly and sad. I'm sure it's hard for you to see that from your superior perch above the rest of us, but the fact is your overly verbose and tedious posts make our virtual ears hurt from the "poor me" whining. It's a public forum dude, don't be surprised that people respond when you say dumb shit!
I fully encourage you to keep posting though, watching guys like you try so hard to drag those around you down so you can keep your head above water is definitely amusing.

Laura, your post disappoints me, because I had seen you as a more intelligent woman earlier. I wonder why it is so damned difficult to understand at least a person who differs from you poitically. Not agree with him necessarily, but jjust undertand.

What am I doing so badly, other than ask people to read something first, before they criticize it. And asking people who have fallen for Ruppert Murdoch's propaganda machine, to perform a reality check now and then?
