I just saw a really long tv ad for some kind of greatest hits album or collection or something.

He was on the Jesica and Nick show.

and he was just on the opening scene from the new season of "Reno 9-1-1"

If they are doing a “Greatest Hits” compilation on television, then Kenny Rogers (or at least his career) is dead.
