is it just me? Removing my sweatshirt it is so hot and it is snowing. Perhaps blame it on the flu.

Sucker for a man with a slide rule, Tulip?

Lance,

There is a grain of truth in each item on your list with the exception of one.

This thread has nothing to do with any other thread that I've posted. It's quite stand alone in that respect.

IP's can be tough if multipule hops are used. This is true. The address translation at each router and proxie has to be resolved. Like the envelope within an envelope within an envelope. Well, you get the picture. It takes patience and time, but it can be done.

For those that think that Lit. has to be hacked to do this, not so. Remember, the mailman has the return address on the letter before it ever gets to your mailbox.

Ishmael

LOL

Ish do you honestly think Laurel & Manu are going to be thrilled with the idea of you gathering Lit members ISP address no matter how you do it?????

So what country do YOU want to live in?
:p
I like the U.S., but since I have citizenship in an E.U. country, I would like to live over there for a while. My foreign language skills are rusty, so I'll probably take the easy route and pick London. Similar legal system, but different enough to shake up my American sensibilities. Sometimes it helps to see things from the "outside" to appreciate what you have on the inside.

Barring the language barrier, I'd say either South Korea or Japan. I don't care for several elements of their historic cultures, and living there would provide a more balanced perspective. Delving into either society would unearth the good as well as the bad, and I would enjoy such an experience.

So now that I've answered the question, any chance you'd share what country most closely matches with your ideology?

I must say this is an interesting thread. You've really outdone yourself this time, Ishmael. It has suspense, mystery, intrigue, a dash of paranoia, and a colorful cast of characters. The main question now, I guess, is: Is Ish just bullshitting and making this shit up for entertainment's sake, or is he really on to something?

Wow, this is exactly what goes through my mind every time I read one of your posts about a people's uprising against the oppressive mantle of American fascism.

Ya fuckin' goof.

Two people in a row (or are we really two different people?!) quoted REDWAVE, in a thread not actually started by him. This surely is a sign of the Apocalypse.

Actually I was just thinking that my actually taking the time to read the last 7 pages as a sign of the apocalypse.

Either that or I'm just really bored this morning.

I was thinking the same thing.

I still can't figure out why

a) Anyone would do all the things listed. Extortion seems like a silly ass reason. I don't care how many pics and chat dialogs someone threatened to pass out to all the other cheerleaders on the squad. I'm still not payin 'em off.

b) Anyone ahs their panties in a wad at the thought that someone might be untrustworthy. All I can think is DUH.

c) Anyone would go to the time to attempt to track IPs.

d) One person can start a thread, claiming in the first post that it's entirely fiction, and everyone jumpst on the bandwagon waiting for the bad guys to be outed.

I feel like I'm in a yahoo chat room.

Lit is supposed to be different from a yahoo chat room in what way?

The biggest difference may be the quality of the hackers. As a far larger, juicier target with a (likely) younger median age, Yahoo does draw some first rate hackers... Does Lit have what it takes to catch up?

Even if Ishmael or anyone has something to prove, all he can ever do is convince. Nobody can prove a damn thing.

The photo is doctored.

The post is edited.

The number is wrong.

I did not have sex with that woman.

didn't a certain person claim just a few days ago that puters are his/her business?

Maybe it's a clue!

Lots of people here are in the 'puter game I'd think, Lioness.

I think PaganCowgirl's analysis is most likely to be spot on.

My buddies and I used to rig stacks of punchcards waiting to run through the mainframe when I was in university to insert ascii nudes in the middle of the cobol sequences of physics post grad weiners calculations.

This nonsense about tracing IP addresses to find out who copied Lavender's breast AV (example) is equally as sophmoric.

So I find it amusing and think everyone else should too.

For me it's just as funny as the rants over Indigo.Rose's pop ups, Siren's Internet Lawsuits, JazzManJim & Intrigued's mirror rants about attention seeking, the mood swings of the bitter, the fake, forced rhetoric of the religious fundamentalists and the crazed nonsense of the political junkies.

If there's a clue in any of this...it should be sliced up and meted out as medication to those without.

I still think the ferret is the key...in whose bed is Ishmael really letting his ferret run unfettered?

Now there's a pot-boiler!

Lance

So would you say you have grown up since uni days or is that mischieveous person still within you? A person that would just like to stir the shit up from time to time just to get some kicks? Not pointing any fingers just asking.

Peace,
Tulip

Sorry this was the quote I was referring to.

Will Ishmael post ISP's of trolls and other fucktards in disguise, or won't he?

Is Ishmael's firewall safe?

How many unsuspecting husbands and wives have recieved copies of their spouse's av's?

Will the ferret shit the bed?

Does Redwave get more attention posting to others threads than his own?

Can Lit's hackers compete with Yahoo's?

Stay tuned....As the Board Turns will continue....

Must the two be mutually exclusive?

I think not.

So where do I fit in in all of that? Or is it that I'm just not funny?

I tried to tell ***** about packets and routing information before Ish...

I guess they forget you are some sort of Computer Scientist and Texan is a Rocket Scientist, and I'm just the board, or bored, idiot...

You may be board but that doesn't mean you aren't heard.

I don't want to be heard dagnabbit! I want to be LISTENED too...

You are feeling very sleepy, soon you will be under my control. Yes we are going to do something kinky, but first, I want you to create a new user account...

OMG...you're kinky? (swoons)

Don't I need a new e-mail address first?
