Jussie Smollett Trial Begins

Yeah, it was a fishy story from the beginning, and the attention is justified because Smolletts himself made it a political issue.

see? there are many times you are sane

btw, it was ME that pointed out all the issues from the story from day 1

And now you're talking about Russian espionage, Donald Trump, and Faux Views--on this Web site, making use of board Trumpettes. ;)

but you cant point to ONE thing Trump said or did that helped Putin or Russia

Mz. Roberts sez: That book is lies! The story is still true because I report it so!

;) ;) :p

Here's the deal: They want to be oppressed. No, they need to be oppressed. Not really oppressed, but to be able to claim that they are oppressed. It's the only thing in their miserable, decadent lives that bestows the slightest hint of character, of nobility on them. So when the world doesn't deliver oppression but luxury and privilege, they have to manufacture oppression.

I see the judge ordered a mirror into the courtroom so Jussie could face his accusers.

:D

Dude is charged with disorderly conduct. He should pay his $50 fine and we can all move on to other really serious things to be outraged over.

All six counts of disorderly conduct are class four felonies of lying to the police. he should get some time but probably won't because of who he is. He will have a felony record, however.

Waste of tax payer money. People lie to the police every day.

This one happened to be a conspiracy that cost the city of Chicago taxpayers a lot of money. There needs to be some kind of retribution, but as I said, he is who he is.

You're just being silly, AlterCrumbleyEgo. You can't point to a single thing that Trump has said or done in the last five years that didn't reveal him as an espionage asset of Vladimir Putin. Who do you think you're fooling?

And you suddenly give a shit about Chicago.

I don't think I mentioned Russian espionage or Donald Trump in my post, and I believe that is a projection of your opinions onto what I said. It is also a good example of the problem that I was trying to describe.

In general, I think there is enough evidence that whether you are on the right or the left in your political leaning, the problem is that neither side has enough integrity to be fair because they are mostly unprincipled and amoral.

So, I'll give you the fact that Trump doesn't really have any integrity in terms of what he says, and honestly my impression of him is that he has no ideology other than to win, which kind of is my point.

Similarly, if you believe the Steele Dossier wasn't a political dirty trick, then I don't believe you really have examined what has been reported, or the fact that the FBI lied to the FISA court in order to be able to spy on the Trump campaign when they knew better.

For me, I worry more about a corrupt government institution that has power rather than a single individual I also worry about collusion between the government and the media, where government executives leak information to the media in order to manipulate public opinion, and the media protects the leakers in or to keep the information flowing. Like I said in my post, it's hard to know who to trust anymore, and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Looking at it objectively, I worry more about the Chinese than I do the Russians, mostly because the Chinese have more economic power and wealth than the Russians do, and they have more people and will ultimately have a larger economy than we do if they don't already. And if you look who is ripping off American innovation and profiting from it, it's the Chinese more so than the Russians.

Think about it -- how many goods do you have in your house that were made in China vs. how many goods were made in Russia?

Notice -- my post here, I'm not talking about individuals, but about governments and our institutions, and whether you can trust the information they provide. Ultimately, these institutions are controlled by our elected officials, so it does come down to people -- but if we don't have people running these institutions that have integrity -- what happens?

That is my point ... it is clear that we have a more obvious integrity problem where the agenda is guided more by greed with little consideration on the overall impact on the society in general. The integrity problem has led to the problem that the Jussie Smollett case illustrates, which is he was confident that if he staged a racist / homophobic attack that the media would eat it up, he'd get an outpouring of sympathy and outrage and light up the headlines and get lots of media attention. Fortunately, there is still enough integrity in the system to actually seek the truth based upon the facts of the case, although people were ready to believe that story because it supported what they believe about our society.

All I'm saying is that there is enough erosion of our belief in the integrity of our institutions that we don't know who to trust, and when that happens we buy into our prejudices ... which is exactly what your reply to my post illustrates. Jussie isn't the problem -- we as a society are the problem -- and and it is an integrity and trust problem.

Why can't you answer his question? Why do you need to deflect?

Whereas I think the Democrats run rings around the Republicans where principle and integrity are involved. If they had the lack of morals and the unprincipled scheming that the Republicans had, they'd be able to wipe the floor with anyone following a man like Trump.

Don't even bother to tell me the two parties are on a parity in terms of being unprincipled and amoral. That dog don't bark.

We could have resolved the Dreamers issue, but it was more important to not give trump a victory. What was the motto "resist and obstruct?" Both parties are the same exact shit.

No, they absolutely are not, CubanCrumbleyTripod. You only have to look at what the respective party delegations are doing in Congress to see the glaring difference between them. This attempt to put them on parity is absolute rubbish.

I did as well from day one, AlterCrumbleyEgo. The difference between us is that you did so consistently with kneejerk, nasty, total partisanship and I did so from an objective look at the circumstances.

RUSSIA!

The parallels between Jussie and Alec are glaring...

The same mental disease is driving both of them.

They both live in an alternative reality where
their actions have no consequences.
It's just "acting..."

Art.
