Back in those days, what was the price of a home related to household income?

guessing avg home was $60,000 back then and white collar professional average salary was $50,000?

Thoughts? statistics?

Ah the good old days. 14-16% home loans. Does it really matter what you made or how much the home cost? That rate was and still is unsustainable.

Some of those he built for Habitat for Humanity have already fallen apart.:D

I'm just watching interest rates jumping up, after all, who wants to buy America's debt as asshat Obama is racking up the bills on entitlements...

Who was President during the Florida real estate crash?

I was reading an article talking about the price of homes and how they use to be closer to household income. In today's world people earn $60-100k and purchase homes for $300-400,000.

So, if interest rates keep going up and mortgage rates hit 14-20%...what would that do to the economy?

Who was President during the Florida real estate crash?

and who was the president when California real estate market crash...the economy crash, and the state went bankrupt...when the state issued warrants instead of checks?

democrat POTUS's are bad for the economy. its just that simple. obama is bad, due to the fact the jackass has never had a real job before. also, he's a liar. also, obama is an arrogant jack ass

As a general rule you house payment should never exceed more than one third of your take home pay. This has grown from 25% of take home just because of what people were doing besides advice.

MY parents bought the house they are still in today when I was 16 so back in 84 and they paid $37,700 and it was in one of the better areas of the state. So I am not sure about the "average" house being 60K in 76-80.

How exactly is Obama racking up bills on entitlements? Is he going around and inseminating a bunch of poor people, or spreading AIDS among the elderly?

His minions are increasing the number of welfare recipients.

Yeah, real fucking shame of a person that Carter guy is.

I mean building homes for the needy.

At least Reagan was a standup guy and was giving speeches for millions of dollars, when yet he couldn't ever recall anything during the Iran-Contra hearings. I mean kind of funny his mind was sharp when he wanted the dough, but when it came to snowballing justice, oops.

Alzheimers wasn't enough for that piece of shit. I wish he could have suffered for 20 years, waterboarded the whole fucking time.

No surprise you worship hero a guy like that though. He probably thought women were just as useless as you do, tough guy.

Oh i mean marine.

Yeah, lower case m.

Small dicked motherfucker.

No different than the current moron acting like he didn't know Benghazi was coming. They all lie and cover their asses.

I only let Regan off the hook because at the time he was trying to stick it to one of our enemies.

Obama sticks it to us.

as to the thread. I was only a kid when Carter was in, but he seemed to me more genuine than most president's were.

Actually, the rates weren't so bad under Carter. It was the "Misery Index" which was inflation and unemployment (I think) added together. Paul Volcker raised rates to bring inflation under control where it has stayed (if you drink the KoolAid) since.

Blow me - I'm not Googling it for you.

Around 1983, when rates were back closer to 12% than 18%, decent used houses in our area were 60-some thousand. Entry level stuff could be had in the 40's, and move-ups for the yuppie crowd started in the one-teens.

And you knew that they knew it was coming how?

Oh hey, Mr. Reagan, it's OK that under your watch you funded what became the Taliban to beat the commies. It's OK that you helped out Saddam because of Iran and let him become the monster he was. It's OK that you funded the wrong people and set up puppet governments in the Americas. We'll also overlook the fact that you made secret deals to hold hostages in order to win the election against Carter.

Oh, and he probably knew that the Beirut attack on the Marines was coming, right?

Christ, you are more of a moron than I thought. Good job.

P.S. Love me so much you took me off ignore?

I didn't expect you to answer the question.

Obama has had more jobs than you. Of course, you could tell us about your work history, but we both know that's never going to happen.

Your parents did nothing of the sort. They raised you in a homeless shelter where you learned Kung Fu from watching TV, and one day you will die when someone puts a cap in your ass.

Oh yeah I bet you're Neo, you dodge bullets, too, hahahha. Idiot.

Don't mind Lt. He gets like this whenever someone mentions parents and a house in the same thread.

Interest rates didn't soar until Reagan took office. He and Volker were trying to tame inflation. You really don't know a thing about that time.

I'm sorry that you don't know nothing about nothing. Sad. I blame Bush

I'm sure that you are correct, I took a guess at the prices of homes back then. Crazy when you think about how expensive homes have become
