Will we ever have a damned president? Even the Supreme Court can't decide what to do... there's a five-four majority on Bush's side, but shit, everyone's still "NOT SURE". What the HELL already! Bush won. Get over it.

The ONLY good thing out of this is Algore, Gephardt, Jackson and the rest of the Democrat thugs are showing their true colors; power at all cost; the end justifies the means; if we can't have it we'll put forth every possible effort to ruin it for everybody else.

it's actually a conspiracy

led by Clinton in order to stay in office longer. I swear!

I agree. It's a shame, too. They have no thought for what they are doing to AMERICA, only for what they can do for themselves.

I truly think that what this country desperately needs are the leadership skills of Kermit the Frog.

However, that is only my opinion.

Get ready, kiddies. The fun has just started.

Gore, et al may have lost the battle, but now we are in for at least four years of their divisive, lying, rhetoric. Did you hear what Jesse Jackson (world class rent-a-ranter) said today? He predicted a "racial explosion" if Bush becomes president. This is the guy who talks about bringing people together?

Sometimes I think we would be better off if Algore became president, hastening the rise of the Libertarian Party. It's only a matter of time, and it can't come too soon for me.

Face the facts. Bush won because he STOPPED votes from being counted. Bush, Mr. States Rights, used the Federal government to intervene in what should be the state's decision.

If this were all reversed, if it were GORE who wanted to stop the counting while he was ahead, all you Dittoheads would be screaming for his head. You are all mindless GOP clones who believe whatever Rush and O'Reilly spoon into your pointy little heads.

History will not look kindly upon Bush Jr. He will be remembered as the drunken incompetent who used his brother's influence and his father's CIA connections to win an election, and even then only won by 154 votes. All your party slogans and rants won't change that. Mark my words.

The Republican party spent 8 years smearing Clinton and spreading lies without getting one single charge to stick. If you think the Democrats aren't pissed, think again. Payback's a bitch. Between Bush Jr's incompetence & the skeletons is his closet (insider trading and other illegal activities are just the start) and the anger of the Dems and Dem sympathizers, the Republican party is going to be hurting pretty bad in 4 years. Mark my words.

Another Bush Presidency (anyone old enough to remeber the last one? anyone really excited about a repeat of Sr.'s term? that's what you voted in, congratulations) is the best thing to happen to the Dems in a long time. The Democrats will have Congress in 2002 and the Presidency in 2004. Thank you, Republicans!

If you think about it, it doesnt really matter, because of this for the next 4 yrs all we're going to hear on the tv or read in the newspapers is .....If so and so had taken office instead of so and so then maybe...

It's reached a point now, regardless of the eventual "winner", that we will have a four year lame duck president. Nothing positive will come from this bru-hah, and nothing of a positive note from the eventual president.

America isn't crippled yet. But the potential is certainly there.

Reminds me of a school yard scrap,,, two crybabie kids that belong to two of the most powerful local citizens,,, knocking each other about and tusseling over a toy,,, and the punishment is ? Well, it just can't be decided. Don't wanna upset the parents ya know.

Hell's bells,,, kick them both out,,,

I was one of those people just voting for the lesser evil, at the time I thought it was Gore. Now I think they're both equally lousy and the next four years will ceratinly be something else. I do however predict that Dubya, like his father will be a one termer. God, I hope this doesn't mean that Jeb will take it in his head to run in 8 years.

Either way, they will be running against Hill-babe. Oh, god, does anyone in New Zealand have a place for rent?

Forget New Zealand, Canada is much more appealing :)

Juliangel?

Have you lost your ever loving mind? Canada??!! Oh, that's right, you LIKE snow and other evil things like that. Maybe I can pretend to be Bill Clinton during the Vietnam War and go to school overseas until everything is over. I probably won't be deported like he was though. God, I love this shit.

Fuck the snow I was talking about a choice Canandian. If I run off to Canada I am leaving the kids and hubby behind ;)

Re: Truth Hurts

Thank you for your incisive commentary, Cha-Cha.

It's okay to disagree. I don't listen to Rush nor am I a "Dittohead" or a Republican. Isn't it interesting how some people resort to hysteria (name-calling, doom and gloom)when they don't have the brains to put together a rational argument? They hate logic.

It's the tactic of tyrants - the big lie. Keep screaming it over and over and over again until people hear it so much they believe it's the truth. Clinton mastered it by telling us "it was all about sex." He conveniently forgot about perjury and violating his oath of office, and lying to the his employees - us. Oh, I almost forgot - getting a blowjob from a star-fucker in the Oval Office wasn't sex.

"Count all the votes" but not the absentee military ballots

"Fair and accurate count" but only where we want

"I will fight for you" - enough said.

I'm trying to find me a Island, with blue skies, warm ocean, four or five ladies, and I'll be President...

I agree with jcgirl and CW, they hit it on the nose.

What upsets me is that the whole election was decided by the court and not the people. Out of 102 million votes cast in the USA, it came down to 9 judges. Doesn't it say somewhere "We the people..." Sad and pathetic.

They didn't decide the election, they ruled on the constitutionality of the recounts, and how votes are counted.

You are technically correct. I am just mad that it had to happen that way, whoever becomes the winner.

Not to mention...

the other 200,00 votes that don't count....bottom line:

More people in this country preferred Gore over Bush...as I did....Bush is a puppet and will get eaten alive on the international front.

Just for me..(I have asked this many times) please somebody delineate the terrible consequences that are to befall our country from this hiccup in our nations politics.

I think we are rather soft and spoiled. Bill throwing around words like tyranny and thug and being oppressed.

Just be goddamn thankful you don't have to REALLY live under a despot. I am so sure the citizens of China or Iraq or North Korea are sympathizing with our "suffering". I am not so arrogant to whine about the country I live in...5.5 billion people have it a bit worse...

Do you walk down the street wondering if the car next to you is going to explode? Do you have to refrain from speaking your mind to avoid arrest? Do you have enough to eat? Do you have a place to sleep? Do you have to look at your child and try to explain why there is nothing to eat? We have the highest standard of living on the planet and we complain because we have to pay a few extra pennies for gas to put in our SUV's...sorta like the junkie complaining about the price of heroin.

God I love Christmas...
