Ok, can anyone recommend a decent intorduction to this (book/website whatever) as myself and my partner would love to have ago but it looks so complex !

Wizards Link thread is in the category "Links" in the Library.

He has several great rope sites in that thread.

Also, if you run a search on Wizard's screen name and "rope" you will come up with many more hits on rope stuff. He loves it
