I love this stuff. It takes five minutes to make instead of the usual twenty or so (depending on sea level). And you get one serving instead of a whole box full so you don't snarf down like six servings of the stuff.

*sighs dreamily*

I'm a cheap date, what can I say.

Yuck.

Sorry give me velveta shells and chesse or something similar.

I can eat the whole box easy and it tastes so much better.

My son loves it. Sometimes he'll try to eat only that for dinner.

How ridiculous.

You can make a box of regular mac in like 10 minutes, and if they're on sale, you can get six of them for a dollar.

You're being ripped off, Muff.

It takes 10 minutes for the water to actually get to a boil in the pot (add a dish to wash).

It takes 7 minutes for the macaroni to cook.

It takes about 3 minutes to dump the mac into a strainer (add a dish to wash), "measure" out butter with a wooden spoon (add a dish to wash), pour the milk in, add the cheese, and stir it all together.

The net result: About 20 minutes worth of work, three more dirty dishes to wash (by hand at our place) and excess macaroni that gets dump out two trash days hence (and yet another dish to wash).

I'll stay ripped off, thank you.

Macaroni the TB4p way:

Use just enough water to put the noodles in. Crank the heat until it boils very slightly. Empty the noodles. Leave the heat on high. Cover. Wait until the water starts to boil out of the pot. Leave on for exactly two more minutes. Strain. Empty noodles into bowl. Add cheese packet, an unmeasured glop of butter, and just enough milk so as not to make it runny. Stir. Chow down.

10 minutes, one bowl.

When you've been making mac-and-cheese for 15 years, you can hone it down to a science.

You missed the pot and the strainer.

I can't eat an entire box by myself. Maybe you can, but I can't.

God I envy you Americans. Even your food sounds cool. I have no idea what EasyMac is but god it sounds divine.

And quick.:D

Since they had nothing but water in them, I wouldn't bother washing them, just maybe a little rinse.

And yes, I can chow down a whole box, and obviously I don't have to arrange it for a whole family, but really, mac-and-cheese can't get much easier unless it was sold premade.

My daughter refuses to east Easy Mac. She begged and begged me tog et some and now I've got an entire box, minus one pack, sitting in the cupboard. Maybe I should send it to KM.

:)

I love Easy Mac!

My 12yo could live on the stuff. And has for about 12 yrs now. ;)

Any snack is good that doesn't involve using the stove when I'm not home.

I can't get psat the smell of that stuff to even contemplate tasting it.

:p

I have a whole jar of vegemite in the fridge.

Anyone want it? Only a few tastes out of it. I can't seem to find anyone in the house that will touch it.

Easy Mac is awesome. 2/3 cups water in bowl.. dump noodles in.. microwave for 3:30 minutes.. remove from microwave.. stir in cheese stuff.. and enjoy.

(One of Mr Freakys favorite late night snacks. Kimber used to eat a lot of it.. but was recently taken off all processed foods. Dammit!)

Muff, does the EasyMac taste the same as the regular kind?

I think they'd be great for older kids to make for themselves without using any sort of flame.

My experience is it tastes the same.

You have to make sure there is a little water left in the bowl to mix the cheese stuff properly.

to much water= mac and cheese soup

not enough water= sticky mac and cheese with clumps of cheese. NASTY!

just the right amount of water=Perfection!

Thanks, Cherry.

I bought the cheapo mac and cheese last time just to try it, because they practically give it away. It was not so good. I'm not sure if the kids noticed, and I don't really eat it, but it tasted like it was loaded with salt. I'm going to compare the sodium levels next time I'm at the store.

Anyway, it's funny how we all know and love that original Kraft mac and cheese taste.

A note on regular "old fashioned" Mac and cheese... If you add half and half instead of milk.. it's creamier. :)
