It Isn't "Porn"

You have a dirty mind, sr.

I knew there was something I liked about you.
:D

April love is for the very young
Every star's a wishing star that shines for you
April love is all the seven wonders
One little kiss can tell you this is true

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one don't let her run away

[Instrumental Interlude]

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one don't let her run away

You read that book by D.H. Lawrence, huh?

I sat down during the last hurricane induced power failure and read it cover to cover. I had seven days. If the sex scenes were put in a Lit story, the score would hover around 2.

From a 21st century point of view, it's difficult to see what had people so upset.

I would re-read it if it were the second-to-last book left on earth...

And I'd lost the last stick to scratch words into the dirt with.

boooooring....

Erotica v. Porn

This is a clip from the BBC show "Coupling," in which a guy, Steve, is invited by his girlfriend, Susan, to explain the difference between erotica and porn. Susan stumbled across a movie called "Lesbian Spank Inferno," which she labeled porn and Steve defended as erotica.

I just watched the clip on a whim. It was hilarious!

Thanks for the reference.

There are two reasons for reading

There are two reasons I put stories on my favourites list, some because they get me off, some because I enjoy reading them. These reasons are different. At the risk of being contentious the first is porn, the second is literature.

Seriously, if I wanted I could write the sort of endless graphic sex scenes, hitting on the popular subjects - Mon/son incest seems to be a winner there - and this would get the readers in and the high ratings. I tend not to do so because I want to write stories that, although they might have 'sexy bits' are stories my readers enjoy for the plotting, for the characterisations and for the pure pleasure of reading. My favourite story on this site - Lovers Without Realizing It - I read without having one hand between my thighs but because it's a perfect little love story. I was in a petulant mood when I called my output 'porn', I would much prefer to have it called erotic literature, well, that's what I aspire to.

As for why I publish under an alias - there are aspects of my personal life which would be affected were, for example, my employers to know that I publish on a site like this. Not everyone is as broad minded as us.

My goal is to do both for the reader in the same story.

And that's why I enjoy copy editing Miss Lisa Jones' stories. They are good reading as well as hot. And even when they aren't exactly to my taste, I can see they have merit, and may suit someone else's tastes. Smut? I don't think so.

This is such a great show. I highly recommend streaming it from Netflix or whatever you can do. Really great takes on sex, friends, etc.
