A woman sitting next to me at the poker tables asked me where I was from. When I said "Northern New Jersey," she was quite surprised. She was the second or third person that has thought that I had a mid-western accent. I don't know where that comes from either. My entire family for at least three generations on any side is from northern New Jersey. I have no idea how my accent could be mistaken for mid-western. Just weird...
