I'm not sure if this is a hoax, an identity theft or just a very early April fool.
Reuters 23.30 GMT said:Shockwaves resounded through the web today, Good Friday March 21 2008 when an unprecedented event rocked the net.
An amateur story site which goes by the name of Literotica trembled through its very foundations when a hitherto amusing and mild mannered member of the site revealed themselves, in flagrant disregard of their nom-de-web actually posted a 50 word fiction in a thread there.
For many years shereads (68) has, consistently and vocally denied and decried any attempt at, as she puts it "making stuff up."
"I spend my working life writing technical manuals for Dyson Vacuums" she explained in an interview "so why would I want to use up what little imagination I have left at the end of the working day writing stories, however short, on what is basically a porn board?"
The site owners, laurel and Manu Silberstein, refused to comment.
Other so-called AHers, named after the forum in which shereads apparently posted the fiction were variously shocked and supportive of the incident. Oggbashan for whom the thread was posted in honour said "Never in my 60 years of government service and bookselling have I come across such a heinous deception. Like many of my colleagues I was completely taken in by her name"
Another AHer who refused to be named said "Wel ah doant reckon she ain't done nothing bad. Good fer her."
