People don't get really pissed off unless something strikes a nerve and makes them question themselves.

I know I don't.

Why do you think Lance has pissed me off so many times?

really?

lance is funny but sometimes i can't help hearing the "crush your head" guy when I read his posts.

If a person finds something or someone objectionable, it could be several reasons. Opposing viewpoints, something someone feels strongly, a nerve, or maybe that response is because of how the statement was made.

Nope, don't agree. For example, busybody and Frimost really piss me off, because righteous ignorance drives me crazy. Nothing they have ever said has made me question myself.

Yep. I believe it.

not true. sheer idiocy really pisses me off, along with wanton cruelty, and neither of those make me question my beliefs.

If you phrased things like, please help me understand why you like this... Instead of pass judgement, and call thier lifestyle pseudo, people would think you where more open to discussion.

Instead you ask why do you idiots all live a stupid pseudo lifestyle? You are all just a bunch of fakes. Please lets discuss.

Everyone has differing opinions.

People need to learn to shut their mouths more and open their eyes and ears more. One can learn from listening and watching more than spouting off at the mouth.

When I question myself, I'm never mad about it. It's only through questioning ourselves that we grow as people.

I promise to play nice nice for one full week.

I would actually like to be able to discuss more rationally in the future. The way I word things doesn't always lend itself for rational discussion since it gets very heated and I make it a bit more personalized.

I do want to get back to the old type of posting with more actual discussion and genuine disagreement that takes a more positive form. That's my goal for the next few weeks on lit.

You can hold me to it. :)

I don't believe your being upset with him has anything to do with striking a nerve in the sense that what he says may be true.

Frankly, you are a high energy person, with definite beliefs and yes, lavey dear, can sound s bit self righteous from time to time. (One of my own demons to fight as well.)

Lance's sense of fair play isn't yours. I think that is what pisses you off. The longest threads and nastiest debates that I have read involving you always involve injustices, violations of person or privacy or a seeming lack of respect for women.

Lance knows how to touch those chords for you.

I hope this helps.

:rose:

Lance, look at the time of those two posts. This thread was begun before that post was ever made.

:)

I generally like things that make me question my beliefs. I mean, if I had any beliefs, I would like them to be questioned.

If you start with the premise that everything you know is wrong, then life is much more interesting.

Ditto. One is on official ignore and the other is ignored by force of habit.
Of course, they don't "really" piss me off, I just don't enjoy reading their crap so I don't.

I think most people get pissed off because they are secretly in love with that person. ;P

It really doesn't matter who is touching her chords...the chords are hers.

Lav holds 100% responsibility for her instrument's trim, as does everyone.

In my experience, people who are quick to blame others for their outbursts, foibles, problems and frustrations have limited credibility and are open season when an attack pattern repeats itself.

I am nobody's whipping post.

If it pisses a few people off that I refuse to be their bum boy I cheerfully say: "Care for a pickle?"

If it continues, I offer Free Installation and Complimentary Rotation with each return visit.

Always with a smile. :)

I don't think that's necessarily true. Lots of things make me question my beliefs, if that pissed me off, I'd spend a lot of time angry.

I know I don't.

I don't know.

I generally tend to think that most people aren't worth wasting my energy on, and anger sucks up a lot of energy.

In my younger days ( ;) ), Lance would have had me ranting and raving because he so enjoys indulging in random shitty behavior. Now, I figure if he wants to live like that, it's far more his problem than mine. I guess that's why I never call him on his behavior.
