Is this inhumane?

I'm currently working on an non-human story and just popped into the category to get a feel for what's being published there these days.

While I have occasionally published two stories on the same day, I was a bit startled to find that @MissLilac has had twelve stories published in that category today and three published yesterday, making her the only author listed for the first fifteen entries. She's not someone who has ever participated in the AH, but I have atted her, so that we're not talking about her behind her back and I don't think this is 'her fault' - probably just moving a story archive over from another site or her own personal archive. Nevertheless, this does seem like a bit like overkill for the site. The stories should surely be staggered out just a little to allow other people a chance at the new list (not that there were any other authors published today)

I am still relatively new here, but my impression was that Laurel would not do that, even if you submitted a bunch of things at once. Curiouser and curiouser.

I once submitted seven or eight stories in the same series all at once, and they were published one day at a time. But that was SF&F, though, which is a busy category. NH doesn't seem to get more than a few stories a day normally, so perhaps Laurel didn't think it would be an issue.

This is the way

Certainly odd. Glitch in the Matrix perhaps?

ETA:
If you go to her author's page it only lists 3 new stories. Something weird is going on.

That could be to their disadvantage also (As far as getting readers)

I have no personal experience to back this up, but I suspect having one of your stories on the New-Stories page every few days for a month will land you more followers than having the entire New-Stories page filled with all your stories for a single day or so.

Even at times when I've had two stories ready to be submitted for the BDSM category, I intentionally spaced them out.

I haven't bothered to keep track of which but I think I've noticed that for many new stories in recent weeks, especially if the story seems like it's part of a series.

^^ Well said, OddLove. That was my exact thought. I deliberately ask for my stories to be spread out in some cases for that reason.

The whole first page of NH goes back to 9/6.

Other categories fill that page with same day, or two day.

I think if you take this and then look at all the people complaining about long waiting times, its flat out wrong.
