Is there a reason not to be bullish on America?

Sure, the first year of the Clinton/Gore slowdown sucked, and the past year sucked, but with interest rates so low, where are you going to put your money? I bought stocks a few days ago that are already up over 10%.

I'm wid chew

But Buchanon predicts the end of our world as we know it.

My money is in land...

The bulls are almost out

WD,

I think you're right about being bullish, for more reasons than just interest rates. People are generally confident about the situation in the U.S. and around the world. Other countries around the world are holding their economies together, and so there is hope.

Other than that, several sectors, like housing and big ticket items, are still holding strong. I think that this could be a great start to another growth cycle. The thing that could stop it all though is a loss of consumer confidence.

yeah, you missed out on Dow 6500. Which could still happen if N. Korea acts up. But I think they've seen our big stick.

"Rogue" nations run and hide

I don't think that any nation, make that sane nation, will be looking to act up at all. The Palestinians chose to do that and have given Israel, under the name of terrorism, a chance to completely go after them.

We have much more to worry about from groups of small people than from countries it would seem.

Go stock market bulls!

Yeah, a little buttkicking did quiet down the Palestinians.

Tell the truth...

China and Russia still want to see us down.

I keep wanting to be optomistic about the market, but I see forces aligned against us, so I keep investing in land.

I still think the maket is too optomistic and I would feel better if it were around 8, 500 to 9. 500.

Thank god there is governmental welfare for the rich farmers and thank god for Tom Dashle who sill make sur that we get that welfare!...

Subsidies should die

Sin,

I have to disagree with you about several points. First is that Russia does NOT want to see us down. We give them lots of aid, lots of legitimacy on the global scene and help them keep alive their feelings of greatness. Despite what most people think, most Russians do not have some deep seeded hate for America or capitalism. Certainly those who were put out of work when Communism failed blame the U.S., but they are few. Even on the governmental level, it's been years since we saw any extremists (Zhirinovsky) and see how far they came? In the end laughed at and pushed into obscurity.

As for the stock market, there is still overvaluation, but good deals do still exist and as corporate profits start to come back, then the dividends will help to eliminate some of those problems. Being bullish is fine with me because if we can keep the inputs stable and confidence stable as well, then there won't be a lot of major disturbances. In the fall of 1997 when we lost around 500 points, we turned out fine and same in 1999 and 2000. We can hold on if confidence is fine. Ofcourse, I would argue that the tax cuts are going to help that as well.

I forgot to write about what I had written in my tag line. I totally disagree with some of the cartels granted to agriculture (like the milk group in New England) and some of the serious protectionism given to agriculture. This is just my view based on economics and over inflated prices that result.

China makes everything now. I gave my brother a Coleman lantern for Christmas. It was made in China. My other brother gave me some sheepskin "Australian slippers" that were made in China. My neice had a baby and all his toys were made in China.

But I don't worry about Russia. Bush looked into Pootfart's eyes and saw a soul.
