I give RamblingRose credit for this thread cause I am pretty sure I got flamed by her in her passive-aggressive thread but the flame effect was lost on me cause I didn't understand it. Thank god, a dear impartial pal on IMs explained to me what it was supposed to mean.
The above situation coincidentally happened on That 70s Show last night when Donna received a "Grandma flame" but didn't get it.
I have also noticed other "established" flamers criticize the way that someone else attempts to flame.
So my questions are...is there a fine art to flaming? does a flame lose any of its effect if it goes misunderstood by the intended victim? How do you decide what is a good flame and what isn't? Are personally directed ones better than generic ones (ie the latest Killswitch & co. ones)? How does one get better at flaming? Should one bother to get better?
