I feel that all organized sports, including the Olympics, is about money and winning and fame and fortune. Where is the heart and soul of the Games???

A pledge not to use enhancement drugs.Pffytpft! Give me a break. Pretty soon there will be genetically engineering athletes.

Where are the stories about the young kids who do this for themselves and the reward of self satisfaction. As I see it, you win, you get a medal, you get signed by Nike or Wheaties, you make $5,600,000,000,000,000.00 you get old and then you die. Will I watch the Olympics? Hell no!! I would rather read a good book or be on the BB.

But, then that's just me. The rest of the world will be glued to the tube applauding some poor kid who has been exploited and has lost most of his/her youth to get on a Wheaties box.

Wow, do I feel better now that I have gotten that all out. So, pass the chips and pour me another drink.

I don't get your point, FlamingBlue. Hey, I like that name, FlamingBlue instead of FlamingRed.

What isn't about money and winning and fame and fortune? Besides sports, isn't that what politics and religion are all about? You might say the same of most other endeavors. I thought that was the name of the game, get famous and make money.

Well, I think I'll watch the Olympics rather than Al Gore talk about how he invented the internet or Benny Hinn go poof.

I see CBS is pitting the Survivor show against the Olympics in prime time this week. What does that tell you about the name of the game?

I might also point out that the U.S. men's BB team members aren't in it for the money or fame or fortune. They already got that.

BTW, who can't chew gum and talk at the same time? Or be on the BB and watch the Olympics at the same time?

Well, Deb....

Love is not about money or winning or fame and fortune. And who said I liked politics.

Let me tell you something, I am looking for a mid life career change at age 56+.I have had a very successful career as a divorce lawyer and I want out, big time. I am looking to find something that I love. Something that will be a part of me rather than causing conflict and disharmony in my life. Fame, fortune and money are no longer what drives me. Been there, done that.

So, Deb, Love is where I'm at and
where I'm going.
