Classy: “Daily Show” Creator Says Oklahoma Tornado Meant For Conservatives…

Via LifeNews:

As families and schoolchildren hunkered down in storm shelters to avoid a massive tornado today near Oklahoma City, a liberal “comedian” found time to use the disaster to attack conservatives.

After being ripped by both right and left on Twitter she offered this apology:

I hope this guy watches his FAMILY dismembered and DISEMBOWLED

Dem Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse Blames Deadly Oklahoma Tornado On Republicans For Not Believing In Global Warming…

I can’t think of anything that doesn’t involve curse words to describe Whitehouse and his comments so I’ll just leave it at this.

Via Daily Caller:

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming.

Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters.

“So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.”

Maybe he's still trying to distract some people from Madrassagate, Birthcertificategate and Bogussocialsecuritycardgate.

This is no worse than blaming Bush for Katrina, as if he started the hurricane himself. I even remember at least one person saying he had dynamited the levies to make the flooding worse.

The only thing that comes to mind when reading this is that what a complete and utter embarrassment the politicians of this country have become. :(

Salon Writer: OK Tornado May Have Resulted From Sequester

In a piece titled, “Anyone regret slashing National Weather Service budget now?” Salon writer David Sirota links the tornado in Oklahoma to the sequester, arguing that we should be as prepared as possible for severe weather events, “but there’s an increasing chance that we will not be thanks to the manufactured crisis known as sequestration.”

It is a now familiar pattern. A tragedy occurs, a few hours pass, and then Salon’s resident absurdist David Sirota writes something absurd. After Newtown, Sirota wrote about a racial angle that didn’t exist. After the Boston bombings, Sirota publicly hoped that the perpetrator was “white.” Today, this:

With GOP-backed cuts to forecasting agency, experts warn future storms will go undetected and more lives lost.

As the Federal Times recently reported, sequestration includes an 8.2 percent cut to the National Weather Service. According to the organization representing weather service employees, that means there is “no way for the agency to maintain around-the-clock operations at its 122 forecasting offices” and also means “people are going to be overworked, they’re going to be tired, they’re going to miss warnings.”

Summarizing the problem, the American Institute of Physics put it bluntly: “The government runs the risk of significantly increasing forecast error and, the government’s ability to warn Americans across the country about high impact weather events, such as hurricanes and tornadoes, will be compromised.”

This didn’t actually happen, of course, as Sirota is forced to concede:

The good news is that the National Weather Service station in Norman, Oklahoma had a warning in effect for 16 minutes before the most recent Oklahoma City tornado hit. That’s better than the 13 minute average, so thankfully, more people probably had more time than usual to evacuate or find safe shelter.

Still, Sirota is asking those difficult open questions favored by people with no evidence to back up their insinuations:

But what about the next time around? Will we be as ready as we can and should be? The answer is maybe not.

IRS Made Pro-Life Group Swear It Wouldn’t Protest Planned Parenthood For Non-Profit Application To Be Approved…

Of course Planned Parenthood’s support for Obama had no factor in this.

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) said Tuesday that a pro-life group in Iowa was told by an IRS agent that its application would not be approved until the group’s board of directors swore it would not protest Planned Parenthood.

“This comes directly from Iowa, one of my constituents attempted to establish 501(c)(3) charity called Coalition for Life of Iowa. She told my staff that an IRS agent told her ‘Your application’s ready to go. However, it will not be approved until you send a letter signed by your entire board under penalty of perjury saying that you will not protest at Planned Parenthood,’” Grassley said at a Senate Finance Committee hearing on the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups.

you know if obama gets kicked out of office, it's binden, jack! do you actually want that? It's like the democrats wanting bush out. they forgot who was waiting in the wings, chenney. think before you talk people!

Politico’s Thrush Politicizes Oklahoma Tornado

The destructive tornado that destroyed the quiet town of Moore, Oklahoma on the afternoon of May 20 was only a few hours gone, the devastation had yet to be measured, and the dead barely counted much less mourned and laid to rest before Politico’s Glenn Thrush felt it was already time to politicize the event and by scolding Oklahoma’s Senators because they are against global warming and big government spending, no less

Only hours after the monster storm ended, Thrush took to his Twitter account to slam Oklahoma’s Senators.

It is striking that Oklahoma’s senators are 1) a federal spending skeptic and 2) global warming denier

— Glenn Thrush (@GlennThrush) May 21, 2013

So, because a tornado hit in an area that has a long history of getting hit by tornados, if that area’s senators were global warming believers…. then, what, Glenn? If Oklahoma’s senators were to be global warming aficionados, would that somehow have warded off a tornado?

Or, perhaps if said senators were believers in big government spending would that somehow have been a bulwark to stop natural disasters?

Or is it, Mr. Thrush, that you are always in a rush to find any reason to attack someone because they don’t believe in your love of big government and your zealous belief in global warming? Regardless of whether a town is destroyed and children are killed it all still serves as fodder for your desire to advance your political objectives?

Is that it, Mr. Thrush?

Dem Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse Forced To Apologize For Blaming Killer Oklahoma Tornado On Republicans…

Still an assh*le.

Via Fox News:

Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma “cyclones” to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue — around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state.

A Whitehouse spokesman said Tuesday the politically charged remarks were pre-written as part of the senator’s weekly Senate floor speech on climate change.

“Tragically and unbeknownst to the senator at the time, a series of tornadoes were hitting Oklahoma at the same moment he gave his remarks,”[total crock of shit -ed.] the spokesman said. “Senator Whitehouse regrets the timing of his speech and offers his thoughts and prayers to the victims of yesterday’s storms and their families, and he stands ready to work with the senators from Oklahoma to assist them and their constituents in this time of need.”

it seems to be that you are talking to yourself. if you care so much march on DC instead of bitching on here!
