Is it possible to re-marry your ex-spouse after divorce?

Hi, one of my friends who was divorced earlier with his wife is thinking of the possibility of marrying her again. They seemed to have met with each other and talked and realised the mistake they had done before and it was done because of immaturity on both sides. Is is possible to marry your ex-spouse even when you were divorced before? Is it permitted under law? Indian? Foreign?

Is there anybody out there who had similar first-hand experience or had seen a similar case for their friends. Is it advisible to remarry in such cases? Can there be problems again?

People with knowledge of such cases, please post.

Under which law it's legal I don't know but I can think of at least 2 couples here in the states I know who did it. If you're looking at Indian law you mayhave to also look at if the are hundi or muslim or something else.

Of course it's legal to re-marry a former spouse.

And in many ways it makes good sense. They both know each other - the good and the bad. They both loved each other at one time enough to get married in the first place. They've come to a point to recognize and admit their mutual and individual mistakes of the past.

They've got a good chance of making the second time work very well!!

My former spouse and I parted on good terms and discussed the possibility of getting back together again - a couple of years ago. We can be friends, but more than that just won't work like it ought to.

Yes. Its also pretty stupid in my humble opinion. There are some circumstances that would justify it, but it depends mostly on the reason for the first divorce.

Or in my parents' case to confirm beyond all shadow of a doubt that the first time was a mistake. On the other hand, it's an interesting conversation stopper for me.

"Well, the SECOND time my parents divorced..."
"HUH?????"

My business partners parents were married to others for about 10yrs after thier own divorce. got back together and seem to be doing well. Good folks

Its legal to donate both kidneys as well...Is just not such a great idea the second time around...

Yeah, actually there appears to be no limit. My aunt and uncle (although I guess at the moment she's my ex-aunt) were married and divorced and married again (etc.) three separate times. Bunch of head cases, though, I wouldn't advise approaching it this way. Although I suppose it could work out for some people . . .

Would you be a friend of the spouse that was shagging sheep in another thread by any chance Yaya ?

Not even a nice try, please do better so we can at least get a laugh.

 Hey, now--careful there.

Maybe I'll get my glove, head for the outfield, and shag some flies.
