I've definitely seen happen before with lesbian relationships, I just think it has less to do with the sexual side of it than when men are pussy whipped. I doubt it has very much to do with gender roles and a good deal to do with personality types. If a person who is predisposed to be a giver and forms intense emotional bonds easily begins dating someone who is naturally a taker you're going to get a "pussy whipped" situation.

As for sexually, I've dated women that have been extremely sexually addictive, but it never effected our relationship outside of the bedroom. Just because I constantly wanted her didn't mean she could make me do things I didn't feel like doing.

I guess the answer is yes and no. Yes, any relationship between any two people can turn into that sort of a situation emotionally based on what type of personalities are involved.
