Writing a story where dad's new girlfriend's daughter comes to live with dad + son.

No blood relations between son / daughter. If they get it on (certainly looks like they might, and I'm only a couple of pages in) does this go under the Incest category?

That's referred to as PI pseudo incest when they're steps. You can post it in incest, it may not do as well not being the 'real thing' but putting it anywhere else may get you some heat.

No genetic relationship means no incest. Even second cousins are given a pass on sex.

Just a point - the category is incest /taboo. It would tick the taboo box.

And yes, most readers expect incest but I had three niece /uncle/ aunt stories do quite well there, with no comments about them being in the wrong category.

@Rusyoznail thanks - I probably should've mentioned that I was originally aiming for 'first time'. I guess I don't want to piss off the first-timers with incest, or piss off the incest-lovers with something that's not incest.

Yet again I'm writing stories designed to annoy my readership. It's a thing I do.

Personally i see no issue, as she is not direct blood. And why not enjoy wht you can

Good luck with it, Zenith.

I was thinking my first story should go in FT, but I was advised by my editor to put it in I/T. He was right. A ton of views, a few followers, a good score. I was stunned.

Ok then. Thanks for the tip.

I'm expecting 4.9 now. Any less and it's on you.

Fucking a niece, uncle or aunt is obviously incest (blood relation). Just as fucking your dad’s girlfriend’s daughter obviously isn’t.

For erotic story purposes, I think it's incest. It doesn't have quite the same sizzle as blood incest, but it depends on how you write it. I've read stories that involve stepchildren and adopted kids that are very erotic and I'd definitely call them incest.

In my opinion, yes, it is at least fringe incest. That said, I’ve written a story that I considered “incest” that wasn’t super well received by some because it wasn’t as incestuous as they wanted (spent a lot of time with brother essentially seeing nudes and sexual messages/diaries of his sister, leading him to become aroused). They thought it was misclassified.

So while some might enjoy it and think it fits the category, just be aware there might be some who won’t agree with the classification.

According to Merriam-Webster:

incest
noun
in·cest ˈin-ˌsest
: sexual intercourse between persons so closely related that they are forbidden by law to marry

I guess this is the legal definition?

Not sure pesky things like legal accuracies hold much weight on Literotica. Perception is 9/10ths of the law, after all.

I think I got my answer, though - the consensus appears to be "yes, it's incest", and I'll be filing under that. My first incest story.

Besides, Rustyoznail promised me lots of votes and comments. How can I resist?

Forbidden to marry by law varies on where you live in a lot of circumstances. Personally, I think anyone who is blood related or is “like family” should count, at least in terms of erotica. The arousing nature of incest I think comes from the thought that there is already a family type of love that is established that turns into a physical love.

I don’t think you need the legal constraints to dictate that.

Could be, but I think you should throw legal definitions out the window when questions like this are asked in this context. It doesn't matter. What matters is how readers perceive the taboo in the story, not what hte law provides.

I have a series about my (then husband's) nephew...the kid (18) wasn't related to me in the least, and did call me Aunt...but it's done well in the incest category over the last 17 years, so I don't think that the readers there are too terribly picky about how exactly the relationship is defined, just that it's something society deems 'off-limits'.

A hint of taboo is enough - and I think the situation described is more than taboo enough to be acceptable to those that read I/T.

The subject sounds like it can go in several directions - that will make for an interesting read when you do publish.

Why hint when you can shout at the top of your lungs? ;)
