Is anyone going to buy that Winona was doing shoplifting research for a movie role?

So her defense boils down to:

The store manager was the director.

The loss prevention detective the camera man.

Saks was the set.

Oh yeah she's innocent.

Re: Is anyone going to buy that Winona was doing shoplifting research for a movie role?

I don't know if I buy it, but i might steal it.

Quite the fervor, this one.

The TODAY show treated this one like real news this morning,

With a guest analysist, no doubt.

Someone from a celebrity court show, with hidden cameras and everything.

The Haitians jumping out of a boat was slightly more important...

Why don't they find a psychologist who will declare that she's a clinically certified kleptomaniac? That seems like it would be a more beleivable defense than she was doing movie research.

Besides, wouldn't she have to be a kleptomaniac? I mean, she's got money, right?

Can you get off if you're a klepto? I mean, you can't plead firebug and get out of an arson conviction.

I knew a church minister that was always getting nabbed with hookers.

He said he was doing missionary work.

They bought it.

I can get off and I'm not a klepto. **rimshot**

I don't see it myself, but all they have to do is convince the jury into believing it.

the way the justice system works, I wouldn't doubt if they don't believe her story.

She might get off with counseling, probation, and supervised co-habitation with Robert Downey Jr.

Oh yeah, I believe that she was researching a movie role. I also believe that that little bump she got from that photographer broke her arm. I'm gullible that way.

Aside from the Downey part (makes me so sad, he's one of my favorite actors) she'll get that no matter what. She shoplifted. She didn't kill anyone.

Oh wait...she'd get off even if she did.

Do they ever bring these talking head psychologists back a year later and say, "Gee, it turns out your profile was completely wrong. Will you be giving back your degree?"

I think she was in an arrogant mindset of 'watch me blatantly rip stuff off and get away with it cuz I'm famous'.

I certainly don't think she should go to jail for this. Volunteering in the community and/or a fine will suffice.

I like her, but she's acted like a spoiled little brat and hopefully she'll learn a lesson.

Fucking Geniuses. Always saying what I want to say before I say it.

This Whole Thing Is A Huge Waste Of Time!

MANY Other Celebs Have Stolen From There And Been Slpped On The Hand, Then Let Off. Why Is This Any Different?

Good Fer Her, Saks Sucks!

True, her case is not being handled as similar ones were.

You know, you're thrity-one, you've been in movies your whole life, if you can't act by now...

If the T shirt doesn't fit you can't convict :D

Ah, yes, fair Winona speaks of truth

I believe her story.

All the world's a stage and we but performers on it.

It opens up so many possibilities...

I thought her defense was that they had her credit card on file and she assumed they would charge everything to that.

Where the hell did I read that?
