I've been trying for a couple of days, on Windows and Mac, and a variety of browsers. Anyone else unable to upload a .docx file?

Uh... I uploaded a .doc file last night with zero problems. Excuse my possible ignorance here, but is .docx a supported format?

Docx has been supported. I've uploaded a few stories in that format, mainly because I forgot to save as...

Probably worth saving it as a doc file and trying again, just in case something changed.

Huh. Well, I don't think I've ever uploaded a .doc file, .docx has been the modern version of Word documents since 2007. But anyway, I know I've uploaded a lot of .docx files.

Anyway, it's not that. I had a story sent back for being not long enough- it was a teaser- and now I can't upload anything. Maybe I'm in time out or there's a glitch or something.

Have you cleared your cache, etc.?

Well, I've used a few browsers and a few different computers, so it's not the cache. I was just seeing if there was a glitch on the site or if it was specific to my account, seems like the latter.

OK. It's not just me. I've tried to upload my second chapter of my recent story for the last couple of days. After selecting the Word doc in my file and and hitting "open" .... Nothing .

Yeah, I tried an .rtf file also, no luck. I'll just hang tight until the site gets fixed, I guess. Thanks everyone!

Try copy and paste into the upload Form.
Thanks, I don't do that since I want to preserve the italics and such that I make pretty heavy use of. Maybe you can do it in the text upload field, but I haven't done it.

Still not working for me, by the way.

If you code the html into the text, you get a preview of exactly how it will show once it's published.

Something is down at the moment - I've not been able to get to my home page these last 24 hours.

Yep. Something strange is going on. As of a couple of hours ago, on my primary desktop (old Mac OSX, old Firefox), my home page is garbled crap. On my newer system (recent MacBook, current OS, current Firefox), everything works as it should it all looks good but the upload doesn't work. My guess is that Manu has modified the code (or whatever) behind the control panels and there are some incompatibilities.

Upload doesn't work on either.

I might double-check what version of Java is running on the older system, 'cause the upload button was working correctly before it all fell apart.

EDITED for clarity about the problem.

I have no trouble accessing my home page using either Chromium or Firefox (relatively new version) running on Ubuntu. Also looks fine using Chrome on Android. I haven't tried the upload button, but then I've never had a need for it.

You might try it. On the system where my home page is okay, the upload button will popup a file list, I can highlight a document, tap "open", and the file will not be uploaded. Same behavior on my Linux system.

It's broken.

Using Chromium, it did not work. Same behavior you described.

File upload now appears to function as it should. At least the file name appears in the field, and the "Remove file" button appears to work.

However, my older system no longer has a functioning control panel, under three different browsers. I can't abandon or update it, there's too much expensive "bought" software that can't be updated because the updated versions are now leaseware. Java won't update. I have workarounds for LitE, but they're a pain in the patoot.

Trivial point... do you know that the forum software censors "Java$cript"? ( I substituted '$' for 'S'.) This is what happens when you type it correctly: "**********".
