Hi ~

I am unsure if this is the correct place to ask this ... but will post my issue and my question here ...

I am a somewhat new Lit member (since August 2022), and when I read stories I have commented to them, and also sent them a pvt message. Yesterday I started getting a message from Lit that popped up stating that I have been banned from sending authors pvt messages about their stories. I am not sure why. I have only given positive feedback. The message says I may have been spamming...but I am sure I have not been. Can someone please help? (or let me know how to contact someone about the issue?)

I tried sending a message to Lit, but it does not let me.

Thank you for whatever help anyone can give me.

I will try to post a picture of the message I am receiving ...

I am currently in the same situation, and no one seems willing or able to help. The webmaster is apparently non-existent

Do you have a VPN? They often create a problem like this..

Nope. I have no idea what happened. My only thought was that I tried to send the same author 2 PM's in a row because I wanted to say one more thing about their story.

I assume it was a mistake for both of us. And it will either get fixed ... or not.
There should be one of the admins able to help, or at least reach out to the webmaster, whomever that is. Both of us have long histories here

Actually, I've only been a member since this past August .... so I suspect I am quite low on the priority list. I can still give comments on the public comment page, so I will just do that if it does not get resolved.

Keep us informed on whether Lit. lets you back in. What you have been doing--sending a lot of constructive comments on the stories--is exactly what should be encouraged by the Web site. The message they sent you claims that you can appeal, and your appeal obviously would win the day. But if they then don't make it possible for you to reach them, this glitch is a systems problem and is on them. Manu is supposedly monitoring the messages here and should read this and fix it. Keep us informed on whether than is happening.

I will.

I haven't tried the pvt comment to an author today yet. The last two I read I just commented directly on the comment page only. (I often do both...the public comment page for a quick note, then a longer comment on the Pvt area.)

Oh, thinking about it now, I could also likely comment via the Start A Conversation tool. That still works for me!

It's fixed!

I just read a story and was able to send a pvt note to the author. Yayyy
