There's a massive New Member Introductions thread permanently stuck at the top of the main How To forum page.

It's always a good idea to check out the stickies (the highlighted threads at the top) in each forum because they usually contain some pretty good info. In the case of How To's stickies, you can introduce yourself, figure out if your thread belongs here, get a bunch of answers to questions and access a huge library of topics.
